Aim: This study aimed to assess the value of monitoring fitness in elite youth soccer players (U15 to U19 age groups) by analyzing the concomitant changes in heart rate at submaximal intensity (HR12km/h) and the velocity at a lactate concentration of 4 mmol/l (v4mmol/l).
Methods: Players were tested by means of an incremental treadmill test on two occasions during the summer pre-season in two consecutive seasons. Based on data from a total of 170 test comparisons from the U15 (n = 48 test comparisons), U16 (n = 40 test comparisons), U17 (n = 46 test comparisons), and U19 (n = 36 test comparisons) age groups, the agreement between substantial changes in HR12km/h and v4mmol/l was analyzed using the threshold combination of HR12km/h = 4.5% and v4mmol/l = 6.0%.
Results: Results revealed 2% full mismatches, 36% partial agreements, and 62% full agreements for the whole sample in terms of fitness change interpretation between both variables. The respective values for the U15 to U19 age groups ranged between 0% and 5% full mismatches, 28-44% partial agreements, and 56-68% full agreements with no meaningful differences between age groups.
Conclusion: In conclusion, our findings confirm the practical value of using HR12km/h to monitor fitness changes in elite youth soccer players when lactate sampling during incremental tests is not possible.

Objective: To determine the correlation among five different types of tumor regression grading (TRG) systems. Test-retest reliability analyses were conducted at two time points to assess the internal validity and consistency of these five TRG systems.
Methods: A test-retest study was performed in 34 pathologically confirmed rectal adenocarcinoma specimens.

Investigate the impact of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) using different photosensitizers (PSs) such as indocyanine green (IG), curcumin (CC), and methylene blue (MB), with or without intracanal application of calcium hydroxide (CH), on the push-out bond strength of glass-fiber posts (GFPs) to intraradicular dentin, the chemical composition of the root substrate, and the sealing of the adhesive interface across different thirds of intraradicular dentin. A total of 112 bovine teeth underwent biomechanical preparation and were divided into eight experimental groups (n = 14 each): Negative control with deionized water; positive control with deionized water + CH; IG group with indocyanine green and infrared laser; IG + CH group; CC group with curcumin and blue LED; CC + CH group; MB group with methylene blue and red laser; and MB + CH group. The push-out bond strength was measured using a universal testing machine (n = 8), and scanning electron microscopy characterized the fracture patterns.

Background: Primary aldosteronism (PA) is the leading surgically treatable cause of hypertension, with adrenalectomy as the definitive treatment for unilateral PA (UPA). However, some patients have persistent hypertension after surgery. This study aims to identify preoperative factors affecting surgical outcomes and develop a predictive model for postoperative hypertension resolution.

Purpose: Major depressive disorder is one of the most common and burdensome psychiatric disorders worldwide. This study evaluated the anxiolytic- and antidepressant-like activity of three semi-synthetic derivatives of xylopic acid (XA) to identify the most promising derivative based on mechanism(s) of action, in vivo pharmacokinetics and in vitro cytotoxicity.
Methods: The anxiolytic potential and the involvement of GABAergic mechanisms were assessed in the elevated plus-maze and open field tests in mice.

Background: Low back pain (LBP) accompanied by sciatica is a widespread musculoskeletal issue with multifactorial etiology, impacting individuals across various demographics. Conservative treatments, notably physiotherapy, are key in managing LBP with sciatica, with neural mobilization techniques emerging as beneficial adjuncts.
Aim: This research aims to assess the effectiveness of utilizing the sciatic slider technique (SST) in both supine and slump positions, compared to conventional physiotherapy alone, in alleviating pain severity, improving lumbar flexibility, lumbar lordosis, lower limb muscle strength, and functional ability in patients with LBP associated with sciatica.
