Human papillomavirus (HPV) can cause condyloma acuminatum and cervical cancer. Some mutations of these viruses are closely related to the persistent infection of cervical cancer and are ideal cancer vaccine targets. Several databases have been developed to collect HPV sequences, but no HPV mutation database has been published. This paper reports a Chinese HPV mutation database (HPVMD-C), which contains 149 HPV genotypes, 468 HPV mutations, 3409 protein sequences, 4727 domains and 236 epitopes. We analyzed the mutation distribution among HPV genotypes, domains and epitopes. We designed a visualization tool to display these mutations, domains and epitopes and provided more detailed information about the disease, region and related literature. We also proposed an HPV genotype prediction tool, which can predict HPV carcinogenic or non-carcinogenic risk genotypes. We expect that HPVMD-C will complement the existing database and provide valuable resources for HPV vaccine research and cervical cancer treatment. HPVMD-C is freely available at Database URL: http://bioinfo.zstu.edu.cn/hpv.

Background: Colon cancer is a leading cause of mortality in Appalachian Kentucky. Studies suggest that the microbiome may influence cancer outcomes. We investigate differential gene expression, the tumor microbiome, and the association between the two as potential drivers of disparities in colon cancer outcomes.

Department of Gynecology, Sichuan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, People's Republic of China.

Background: Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE)-mediated membrane fusion is crucial for autophagy, making YKT6, a key modulator of cell membrane fusion, a potential target for cancer therapy. However, its oncogenic role across different cancers remains unclear. This study was to investigate the prognostic value and potential immunological functions of YKT6, including cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC).

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is a major health concern, which can be the sign of a latent mitochondrial disease. However, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) contribution is largely unexplored in SCD at population level. Recently, mtDNA variants have been associated with congenital cardiopathy and higher risk of ischemic heart disease, suggesting them as potential risk factors also in SCD.

State Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Beijing, China.

Introduction: The widespread adoption of integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs) has led to the emergence of INSTI-associated drug-resistance mutations. This cross-sectional study conducted a comprehensive national survey to investigate the prevalence of pretreatment drug resistance (PDR) to INSTIs among newly diagnosed human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) individuals in China.

Methods: The study enrolled 10,654 individuals from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions between 2018 and 2023.
