Aims: The present study is aimed at exploring the effects of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors on weight in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and therapeutic regimen recommendations.
Methods: 20,019 patients with T2DM were enrolled. The maximal effect ( ) models, whose evaluation index was change rate of body weight from baseline value, were used to analyze data using nonlinear mixed effect modeling (NONMEM).
Results: For SGLT-2 inhibitors, canagliflozin, empagliflozin, ertugliflozin, ipragliflozin, luseogliflozin and tofogliflozin, the , and treatment duration to reach half of the maximal effects (ET) were -3.72% and 3.35 weeks, -5.59% and 16.8 weeks, -2.84% and 3.42 weeks, -3.43% and 3.09 weeks, -3.04% and 4.38 weeks, and -2.45% and 3.16 weeks, respectively. In addition, for T2DM patients, 100 mg/day canagliflozin needs to be taken 13.4 weeks for the plateau of effect on weight; 10 mg/day empagliflozin needs to be taken 67.2 weeks for the plateau of effect on weight; 5 mg/day ertugliflozin needs to be taken 13.68 weeks for the plateau of effect on weight; 50 mg/day ipragliflozin needs to be taken 12.36 weeks for the plateau of effect on weight; 2.5 mg/day luseogliflozin needs to be taken 17.52 weeks for the plateau of effect on weight; 20 mg/day tofogliflozin needs to be taken 12.64 weeks for the plateau of effect on weight.
Conclusions: This was the first study to explore effects of SGLT-2 inhibitors on weight in T2DM; meanwhile, the optimum dosages and treatment durations on weight from canagliflozin, empagliflozin, ertugliflozin, ipragliflozin, luseogliflozin, and tofogliflozin were recommended, respectively.

To investigate the feasibility and clinical efficacy of a novel approach to managing the incisions used to treat tibial plateau fractures (TPFs) with soft tissue swelling. We retrospectively enrolled 64 patients with TPFs who underwent surgery at the Second Hospital of Shandong University. Patients were divided into two groups: Group A (n = 32) underwent early surgery with the novel incision management technique, and Group B (n = 32) underwent conventional surgery after swelling reduction.

Objective: To determine (1) whether the tibial plateau angle (TPA) in dogs with Salter-Harris type 1 (SH-1) or type 2 (SH-2) fractures of the proximal tibial physis significantly decreases in the time between diagnosis and reevaluation following surgical repair and (2) whether the method of surgical repair influences the change in TPA over time.
Study Design: This study was a retrospective study. Medical records from 2017 to 2022 were reviewed to identify dogs with SH-1 or SH-2 fractures of the proximal tibial physis that had undergone surgical repair with Kirschner wires (K-wires), with or without a tibial tuberosity tension band.

Background: Since its resurgence in 2017, Yellow fever (YF) outbreaks have continued to occur in Nigeria despite routine immunization and the implementation of several reactive mass vaccinations. Nigeria, Africa's most populous endemic country, is considered a high-priority country for implementing the End Yellow fever Epidemics strategy.
Methods: This retrospective analysis described the epidemiological profile, trends, and factors associated with Yellow fever viral positivity in Nigeria.

Good skin quality not only improved carcass quality but also increased consumer demand for fresh poultry meat. This study aimed to investigate the developmental changes in skin growth and quality of Pekin ducks during 1-6 weeks of age. The skin samples were collected from the breast, back, and thigh tissues of six male ducks at the end of each week.

For trained individuals such as athletes and musicians, learning often plateaus after extensive training, known as the "ceiling effect." One bottleneck to overcome it is having no prior physical experience with the skill to be learned. Here, we challenge this issue by exposing expert pianists to fast and complex finger movements that cannot be performed voluntarily, using a hand exoskeleton robot that can move individual fingers quickly and independently.
