Sperm donation and hormonal therapy with micro-Testicular Epididymal Sperm Extraction (TESE) for infertility from testicular failure might not always be available in some contexts. We report a successful embryo transfer from the patient-by 'cumulative sperm collection' strategy. A 42 year-old male presented with non-obstructive azoospermia from testicular failure. Hormonal treatments were given along with the patient-initiated 'cumulative sperm collection' strategy, which eventually resulted in 17 sperms retrieved. Twelve mature oocytes were selected for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) with the retrieved sperms, of which 8 oocytes were successfully fertilized but only two reached the early blastocyst stage; the first embryo transfer was not successful. Another five eggs were thawed and fertilized with the remaining 5 sperms and 3 oocytes were successfully fertilized: Seven cells were grade 3, 6 cells were grade 3, and 3 cells were grade 3. The second embryo transfer was successful, and the term female infant was successfully delivered by cesarean section. At a center without micro-TESE availability, successful embryo transfer for testicular failure type IV could be achieved by hormonal therapy plus a 'cumulative sperm collection' strategy.

Study Question: What is the load and profile of hereditary cancer-linked germline variants in infertile compared to fertile men?

Summary Answer: This study showed almost 5-fold enrichment of disease-causing findings in hereditary cancer genes in infertile compared to fertile men (6.9% vs 1.5%, =2.

The impact of a High-Fat Diet (HFD) on male reproductive health is characterized by fertility disorders in obese males, attributed to oxidative stress, endocrine suppression, and upregulation of pro-apoptotic elements. It remains unclear if observed disorders are primarily linked to obesity or if HFD, independently of obesity, induces similar effects in resistant cases. To explore this subject, immature male mice were divided into control (received a normal diet) and experimental groups.

Background: The fertility of roosters significantly impacts the economic outcome of the poultry industry. However, it is common for some roosters to fail to produce semen during production, and the underlying reasons remain largely unclear.

Results: To investigate a solution to this problem, induced molting (IM) was performed on no-semen (NS) roosters.

In male mammals, spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) are essential for sustaining lifelong spermatogenesis within the testicular open niche, a unique environment that allows SSC migration over an extended niche area. As SSCs undergo continuous mitotic division, mutations accumulate and are transmitted to the descendant SSC clones. Therefore, SSC clonal fate behaviors, in terms of their efficiencies in completing spermatogenesis and undergoing expansion within the niche, influence sperm genomic diversity.

Comparison of carboplatin-based chemotherapy versus cisplatin-based chemotherapy in the treatment of malignant gonadal germ cell tumor: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

To evaluate the role of carboplatin-based chemotherapy in patients diagnosed with malignant gonadal germ cell tumors (GCTs), we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis. We searched PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane library, and Web of Science. Randomized controlled trials or cohort studies on gonadal GCTs between January 1, 1970 and April 26, 2023 were enrolled.
