Lilium lancifolium and Lilium brownii viridulum were two common cultivars of Lilium in China, which have been used as a source of food in ancient China, and as a traditional herbal medicine in most northern hemispheres countries continues today. However, only a few secondary metabolites in Lilium closely related to human health have been reported. In this research, an offline two-dimensional (HILIC and RP C18) separation system combined with multimode high-resolution mass spectrometry data acquisition was established for in-depth exploration and comparison of the chemical components in Lilium. In total, 331 components were identified, among which phenylpropanoid derivatives and steroidal saponins were the most abundant components. Furthermore, sulfur derivatives and steroidal alkaloids were systematically characterized in Lilium for the first time. These results provided valuable information for in-depth differentiating types of components characterization, which may be applied to assess and improve the edible and medicinal values of Lilium.

This article explores how acuteness is experienced by people with endometriosis in Finland. Drawing on in-depth interviews as well as anonymous written endometriosis stories, we trace instances when the sense of chronicity and cyclicality of endometriosis is disrupted by a possibility of risk to life. These instances include when endometriosis tissue grows in unanticipated and aggressive ways, when medical interventions lead to unexpected complications or medications raise concerns about a gradually developing risk, and when endometriosis diagnosis becomes a catch-all category that could mask the onset of a life-threatening condition.

We have conducted a systematic study employing density functional theory (DFT) and quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) to explore the gas sensing capabilities of nitrogen-doped single vacancy graphene quantum dots (SV/3N) decorated with transition metals (TM = Mn, Co, Cu). We have studied the interactions between TM@SV/3N and four different target gases (AsH, NH, PH, and HS) through the computation of adsorption energies, charge transfer, noncovalent interaction, density of states, band gap, and work function for 12 distinct adsorption systems.
