Spiny pocket mice are usually divided into two genera, Heteromys and Liomys, and more recently the latter have been subsumed into the former, leaving subfamily Heteromyinae with one genus. However, this arrangement conveys false equivalency among heteromyines, and does not represent the great morphological, molecular, and ecological diversity in this subfamily. To address this, geometric morphometric methods were used to explore interspecific cranial variation in this subfamily, which were then evaluated in the context of recent phylogenetic and taxonomic findings.

Phrynops geoffroanus has a wide distribution in South America, living in aquatic environments such as rivers, streams, and lakes, in natural and urban environments. In this work, the plastron formula and the diversity index associated with the allometric condition are established for the species. For the morphometric analyses, the following were calculated: standard error, class intervals, sample standard deviation, principal component analysis, and allometry.

Body size has always been the focus of several ecological studies due to its undeniable influence on other life-history traits. The conventional representation of body size in arthropods typically relies on linear measures, such as total body length, or the length of specific body parts that can be used to represent body size. While these measures offer simplicity over more complicated alternatives (.

The Bardhoka sheep breed, also known as Dukagjini white sheep (Ovis aries), is considered to be a medium-sized sheep that is a typical grazing ruminant. The aim of this study was to investigate and measure the parameters of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) of Bardhoka sheep to determine the morphometry, volume, ratio and surface areas of its different parts. The GIT of eight adult healthy Bardhoka sheep with an average body mass (BM) of 57.

Predicting the distribution, structure, and biomass of mangrove forests is an area of high research interest. Across the Atlantic East Pacific biogeographic region, three species are common and abundant members of local mangrove communities; , , and . Biomass prediction for these species has relied on two approaches: site-specific allometries based on the idea that environmental/climatic differences between sites drive growth differences, or the use of common allometric equations based on the idea that site driven differences are minimal.
