Published: February 2022

Current Italian legislation provides that medical can be administered orally as an extract if it has been titrated to determine the concentration of active molecules. In this context, there is a need to provide known and adequate quantities of active ingredients in order to guarantee uniform therapies that lead to the optimization of risks/benefits. This is fundamental considering that the limited availability on the market of registered -based products for medical use means that prescribed therapies are usually prepared as galenic preparations. Consequently, the preparation procedures must be consistent with the instrumentation usually present in the laboratories of community pharmacies. In this context, the purpose of this work was to standardize the preparation procedure for oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions to exploit advantages in terms of ease of administration and dosage adjustment, but also to ensure the palatable organoleptic characteristics of the finished product. For the formulations being studied, in addition to the quality according to the directives set out in the European Pharmacopoeia, the stability was evaluated to assure adequate validity for therapeutic uses.

Objective: Clazosentan is a recently approved endothelin receptor antagonist indicated for the prevention of vasospasm and related complications following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). To date, no direct, head-to-head comparison between clazosentan and nimodipine has been conducted. In this study, we indirectly assessed the efficacy and safety of these two drugs in preventing vasospasm and its associated outcomes after aSAH.

Chapter 2: PRIMARY HYPERPARATHYROIDISM: DIAGNOSIS.

Ann Endocrinol (Paris)

Primary hyperparathyroidism is now predominantly an asymptomatic pathology, as blood calcium assay has become systematic. Diagnosis therefore requires screening for target organ damage when this is not already indicative of primary hyperparathyroidism.Classical clinical manifestations include bone, kidney and muscle signs, and are characterized by reversibility after parathyroid surgery.

Introduction: Mandibular condylar fractures are among the most common facial fractures and its incidence has been rising since the past few decades. Although various approaches for management of mandibular condylar fractures have been described in literature there is a gap in the published literature when it comes to comparison of these approaches. There have only been a handful of studies which have compared use of Retromandibular Transparotid against Retromandibular anteroparotid approach in management of mandibular condylar fractures with conflicting results.

Y-shaped venous anastomosis combined with free flap for the treatment of complex craniofacial trauma.

J Stomatol Oral Maxillofac Surg

January 2025

Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University, 563000 China; The Collaborative Innovation Center of Tissue, Damage Repair and Regeneration Medicine of Zunyi Medical University, 563000 China. Electronic address:

Background: Complex craniofacial trauma is defined as those traumatic injuries that are not responding to initial treatment and may involve chronic infection, tissue exposure, and soft tissue contusions. Typical reconstruction using a Y-shaped microvascular venous anastomotic free flap is labor intensive. Although free flap grafts have been used in many applications, their use for combined microvascular anastomotic therapy remains an unexplored but attractive possibility.

Framework Nucleic Acid-Based and Neutrophil-Based Nanoplatform Loading Baicalin with Targeted Drug Delivery for Anti-Inflammation Treatment.

ACS Nano

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases, National Center for Stomatology, National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan 610041, China.

Targeted drug delivery is a promising strategy for treating inflammatory diseases, with recent research focusing on the combination of neutrophils and nanomaterials. In this study, a targeted nanodrug delivery platform (Ac-PGP-tFNA, APT) was developed using tetrahedral framework nucleic acid (tFNA) along with a neutrophil hitchhiking mechanism to achieve precise delivery and anti-inflammatory effects. The tFNA structure, known for its excellent drug-loading capacity and cellular uptake efficiency, was used to carry a therapeutic agent─baicalin.
