In this article, the output-feedback tracking control problem is considered for a class of nonlinear time-delay systems in a strict-feedback form. Based on a state observer with reduced order, a novel output-feedback control scheme is proposed using the backstepping approach, which is able to guarantee the system transient and steady-state performance within a prescribed region. Different from existing works on prescribed performance control (PPC), the present method can relax the restriction that the initial value must be given within a predefined region, say, PPC semiglobally. In the case that the upper bound functions for nonlinear time-delay functions are unknown, based on the approximate capacity of fuzzy-logic systems, an adaptive fuzzy approximation control strategy is proposed. When the upper bound functions are known in prior, or in a product form with unknown parameters and known functions, an output-feedback tracking controller is designed, under which the closed-loop signals are globally ultimately uniformly bounded, and tracking control with global prescribed performance can be achieved. Simulation results are given to substantiate our method.

This paper proposes an adaptive output feedback full state constrain (FSC) controller based on the adaptive neural disturbance observer (ANDO) for a nonlinear electro-hydraulic system (NEHS) with unmodeled dynamics. The Barrier Lyapunov Functions (BLFs) are utilized to ensure that all states of the system are specified within the constraints, and the approximation ability of radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) is used to cope with the unknown nonlinear functions. An adaptive neural compensation disturbance observer is elaborated to estimate the compound disturbance and oil leakage fault, effectively addressing these negative effects.

This paper focuses on the issue of global practical tracking control by output feedback for uncertain nonlinear systems with unknown control coefficients and unknown reference signal. Unlike other tracking works, the upper and lower bounds of the unknown control coefficients in the studied nonlinear system are not required to be known, while the nonlinearities are bounded by the unmeasured states multiplying an unknown constant, the polynomial-of-output and the polynomial-of-input. Inspired by related works, an adaptive tracking controller based on a new dynamic high gain has been successfully constructed by combining the universal control idea and the concept of dead-zone with backstepping technique, which effectively handles the impacts of multiple uncertainties.

This paper investigates an output feedback adaptive fault-tolerant tracking control for a class of nonlinear systems with system nonlinearities, sensor failures and external disturbances, in which sensor redundancy is employed to enhance measurement reliability. A sensor fusion mechanism, together with a novel history-based weighted average algorithm is first designed to fuse all sensor outputs. Then, an adaptive controller based on the sensor fusion output, a dynamic gain and a state observer is constructed to handle all the uncertainties caused by system nonlinearities, external disturbances, sensor failures and fusion mechanism.

This article primarily studies the adaptive output-feedback consensus tracking control issue for nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) with unknown control directions against deception attacks. First, a composite observer combining the state observer and the disturbance observer is developed to concurrently estimate the states of confronting deception attacks and unmeasurable disturbances. Moreover, to resolve the unknown gains resulting from deception attacks, the adaptive attack compensator is proposed.

This article analyses leader-following bipartite consensus for one-sided Lipschitz multi-agent systems by dual-terminal event-triggered output feedback control approach. A distributed observer is designed to estimate unknown system states by employing relative output information at triggering time instants, and then an event-triggered output feedback controller is proposed. Dual-terminal dynamic event-triggered mechanisms are proposed in sensor-observer channel and controller-actuator channel, which can save communication resources to a great extent, and the Zeno behavior is ruled out.
