Not a bag for life… a bag for living.

Stoma products often look and feel medical and can prevent ostomates from living life to the full. They are not designed to address common problems experienced by patients; they can be bulky and visible, allow flatus to escape, need frequent changing (often disrupting sleep) and are uncomfortable. Pelican Healthcare's ModaVi range of ostomy pouches were designed using insight from intestinal ostomates. The company considered their unmet needs and designed products intended to improve patients' quality of life, allowing them to lead the lives they want. ModaVi pouches have innovative features, including being made of a soft fabric that is comfortable and water resistant, and come in black and neutral colours. The pouches are made in different sizes, which can be altered to meet patients' lifestyles and fit in clothing. In addition, they are adapted for people with poor sight or dexterity, and the simple outlet and viewing window make them easier to use. New and established ostomates have evaluated them positively.

Recently, a multi-scale representation attention based deep multiple instance learning method has proposed to directly extract patch-level image features from gigapixel whole slide images (WSIs), and achieved promising performance on multiple popular WSI datasets. However, it still has two major limitations: (i) without considering the relations among patches, thereby possibly restricting the model performance; (ii) unable to handle retrieval tasks, which is very important in clinic diagnosis. To overcome these limitations, in this paper, we propose a novel end-to-end MIL-based deep hashing framework, which is composed of a multi-scale representation attention based deep network as the backbone, patch-based dynamic graphs and hashing encoding layers, to simultaneously handle classification and retrieval tasks.

Aim: To evaluate the impact of heart rate-guided basic resuscitation compared to Helping Babies Breathe on neonatal outcomes and resuscitation practices in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Methods: We conducted a pre-post clinical trial comparing heart rate-guided basic resuscitation to Helping Babies Breathe in three facilities, enrolling in-born neonates ≥28 weeks gestation. We collected observational data during a convenience sample of resuscitations and extracted clinical data from the medical record for all participants.

The emergence of a quantum spin liquid (QSL), a state of matter that can result when electron spins are highly correlated but do not become ordered, has been the subject of a considerable body of research in condensed matter physics [1,2]. Spin liquid states have been proposed as hosts for high-temperature superconductivity [3] and can host topological properties with potential applications in quantum information science [4]. The excitations of most quantum spin liquids are not conventional spin waves but rather quasiparticles known as spinons, whose existence is well established experimentally only in one-dimensional systems; the unambiguous experimental realization of QSL behavior in higher dimensions remains challenging.
