The relationship between sleep posture and sleep quality has been studied comprehensively. Over 70% of chronic diseases are highly correlated with sleep problems. However, sleep posture monitoring requires professional devices and trained nursing staff in a medical center. This paper proposes a contactless sleep-monitoring Internet of Things (IoT) system that is equipped with a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B; radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags are embedded in bed sheets as part of a low-cost and low-power microsystem. Random forest classification (RFC) is used to recognize sleep postures, which are then uploaded to the server database via Wi-Fi and displayed on a terminal. The experimental results obtained using RFC were compared to those obtained via the support vector machine (SVM) method and the multilayer perceptron (MLP) algorithm to validate the performance of the proposed system. The developed system can be also applied for sleep self-management at home and wireless sleep monitoring in medical wards.

Aims And Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the impact of sleep position preferences (SPP) on sleep quality, comfort and catheter care quality in patients after endoscopic nasobiliary drainage (ENBD).
Design: This was an observational prospective study.
Methods: This study included 167 participants with common bile duct stones (CBDS) who underwent ENBD from the gallstone ward of a hospital as a convenience sample.

Sleep posture is a key factor in assessing sleep quality, especially for individuals with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), where the sleeping position directly affects breathing patterns: the side position alleviates symptoms, while the supine position exacerbates them. Accurate detection of sleep posture is essential in assessing and improving sleep quality. Automatic sleep posture detection systems, both wearable and non-wearable, have been developed to assess sleep quality.

Modern treat-to-target management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) involves titration of drug therapy to achieve remission, requiring close monitoring of disease activity through frequent clinical assessments. Accelerometry offers a novel method for continuous remote monitoring of RA activity by capturing fluctuations in mobility, sedentary behaviours, physical activity and sleep patterns over prolonged periods without the expense, inconvenience and environmental impact of extra hospital visits. We aimed to (a) assess the feasibility, usability and acceptability of wearable devices in patients with active RA; (b) investigate the multivariate relationships within the dataset; and (c) explore the robustness of accelerometry outcomes to downsampling to facilitate future prolonged monitoring.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a global surge in patients presenting with prolonged or late-onset debilitating sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection, colloquially termed long COVID. This narrative review provides an updated synthesis of the latest evidence on the neurological manifestations of long COVID, discussing its clinical phenotypes, underlying pathophysiology, while also presenting the current state of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Approximately one-third of COVID-19 survivors experience prolonged neurological sequelae that persist for at least 12-months post-infection, adversely affecting patients' quality of life.

Sleep problems are important comorbid features of, and risk factors for, neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease (PD). To assess the prevalence and associations of sleep problems in patients with PD we analysed data from almost 54,000 participants in the Fox Insight study, including data from 38,588 patients with PD. Sleep problems are common in PD, with ~84% of respondents with PD reporting difficulty falling or staying asleep.
