The discovery of light-harvesting materials for use in photocatalytic organic reactions has recently attracted attention, indicating the potential for utilizing renewable energy sources. A hybrid semiconductor (SC)-SC structure, CuS-MnWO, was synthesized using a simple, efficient method. The novel hierarchical porous CuS-MnWO hybrid structures were then applied in the photocatalysis of oxidative homocoupling of alkynes and amines. The design of a heterogeneous catalyst based on a porous, SC-SC hybrid structure and low-cost Cu should generate interest in the fabrication and modification of photocatalysts for a wide range of applications.

Assessment of the tumor immune microenvironment can be used as a prognostic tool for improved survival and as a predictive biomarker for treatment benefit, particularly from immune modulating treatments including cytotoxic chemotherapy. Porous carbons with large surface area (>3000 m/g) and heteroatom dopants have shown great promise as electrode materials for zinc ion hybrid capacitors. Centralized mesopores are effective to accelerate kinetics, and edge nitrogen can efficiently enhance pseudocapacitive capability. In the Imbalanced Multivariate Time Series Classification (ImMTSC) task, minority-class instances typically correspond to critical events, such as system faults in power grids or abnormal health occurrences in medical monitoring. Despite being rare and random, these events are highly significant. Tryptophan catabolism is a central pathway in many cancers, serving to sustain an immunosuppressive microenvironment. The key enzymes involved in this tryptophan metabolism such as indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) and tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO) are reported as promising novel targets in cancer immunotherapy. IDO1 and TDO overexpression in TNBC cells promote resistance to cell death, proliferation, invasion, and metastasis.
