There remains a persistent unmet need to detect the disease nonresponse (nonDR) subgroup before adjuvant therapy in synchronous liver metastasis patients with colorectal cancer. Ma's radiomics-clinical nomogram shows potential for the early detection of nonDR subgroups, but it is not good enough owing to at least three limitaions, which we address in this letter to the editor. First, the study did not explore RAS/BRAF mutations, HER2 amplifications, to complement the current nomogram. Second, the nomogram was not validated in left- and right-sided tumors separately. Third, the most critical factor for determining the success of adjuvant therapy should be resectability rather than tumor size shrinkage, which was used in the study.

This study aims to establish and validate an ultrasound radiomics nomogram for preoperative prediction of central lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) before operation. A retrospective analysis conducted on ultrasonic images and clinical features derived from 288 PTMC patients, who were divided into training cohorts ( = 201) and validating cohorts ( = 87) in a ratio of 7:3 base on the principle of random allocation. Radiomics features were extracted from the PTMC patients after ultrasonic examination, followed by dimension reduction and characteristic selection to construct the radiomics score (Radscore) using LASSO regression analysis.

Background: The prognostic prediction of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains challenging. This study aimed to develop a radiomics model to predict Ki-67 expression status in PDAC patients using radiomics features from dual-phase enhanced CT, and integrated clinical characteristics to create a radiomics-clinical nomogram for prognostic prediction.

Methods: In this retrospective study, data were collected from 124 PDAC patients treated surgically at a single center, from January 2017 to March 2023.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and validate a model for accurately assessing the risk of distant metastases in patients with gastric cancer (GC).

Methods: A total of 301 patients (training cohort, n = 210; testing cohort, n = 91) with GC were retrospectively collected. Relevant clinical predictors were determined through the application of univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses.

Background: Although ultrasound (US) has been widely adopted as the preferred imaging modality for thyroid nodule evaluation, its reliability in distinguishing follicular adenomas from adenocarcinomas based on US features has been a subject of debate. The primary objective of our study was to comprehensively evaluate the efficacy of US-derived intratumoral and peritumoral radiomics in preoperatively differentiating follicular thyroid adenomas from adenocarcinomas, thereby contributing to the ongoing discussion regarding this challenging distinction.

Methods: In total, 195 patients who were pathologically diagnosed with thyroid follicular neoplasm were retrospectively enrolled in this study.

Objective: To build and validate a periprostatic fat magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) based radiomics nomogram for prediction of biochemical recurrence-free survival (bRFS) of patients with non-metastatic prostate cancer (PCa) receiving radical prostatectomy (RP).

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 356 patients with non-metastatic PCa who underwent preoperative mpMRI followed by RP treatment at our institution. Radiomic features were extracted from both intratumoral region and the periprostatic fat region, which were segmented on images obtained through T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) and apparent-diffusion coefficient (ADC) imaging.
