The inherent porous structures and aligned functional units inside the skeleton of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) provide an extraordinary promise for post-modification and deservedly expand their application in the field of proton conduction. Herein, we tactfully introduced copper ions into a two-dimensional COF (TpTta) furnished with ample N,O-chelating sites by a post-modification strategy to achieve two copper(II)-modified products, namely, CuCl@TpTta-3 and CuCl@TpTta-10. Inspiringly, the two modified COFs demonstrated the higher conductivities of 1.77 × 10 and 8.81 × 10 S cm under 100 °C and 98% relative humidity, respectively, among the previously reported COFs with higher σ values. In comparison to the pristine COFs, the σ values of CuCl@TpTta-3 and CuCl@TpTta-10 are boosted by 2 orders of magnitude. On the basis of structural analyses, nitrogen and water vapor adsorption tests, and proton conduction mechanism analysis, we deeply analyzed the reason why the conductivity of the modified COFs was significantly increased. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time to employ the CuCl-modified strategy to boost the conductivity of COFs, which offers a wise idea for the fabrication of highly conductive materials in the field of fuel cells.

The interfacial proton transfer (PT) reaction on the metal oxide surface is an important step in many chemical processes including photoelectrocatalytic water splitting, dehydrogenation, and hydrogen storage. The investigation of the PT process, in terms of thermodynamics and kinetics, has received considerable attention, but the individual free energy barriers and solvent effects for different PT pathways on rutile oxide are still lacking. Here, by applying a combination of ab initio and deep potential molecular dynamics methods, we have studied interfacial PT mechanisms by selecting the rutile SnO(110)/HO interface as an example of an oxide with the characteristic of frequently interfacial PT processes.

Introduction: Anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has been reported to modulate gamma-aminobutyric acid levels and cerebral energy consumption in the brain. This study aims to investigate long-term GABA and cerebral energy modulation following anodal tDCS over the primary motor cortex.

Method: To assess GABA and energy level changes, proton and phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy data were acquired before and after anodal or sham tDCS.

Apigenin (Api), a flavonoid possessing dual features of antioxidant activity and intramolecular hydrogen bond (IMHB), is subjected to an external electric field (EEF) to investigate its excited-state antioxidant activity after excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) behavior employing the density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) methods, as well as molecular docking. The existence of IMHB is demonstrated by structural parameters and AIM topological analysis, where Api in the enol form under an EEF of +60 × 10 a.u.

The world is moving towards the utilization of hydrogen vehicle technology because its advantages are uniformity in power production, more efficiency, and high durability when compared to fossil fuels. So, in this work, the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Stack (PEMFS) device is selected for producing the energy for the hydrogen vehicle. The merits of this fuel technology are the possibility of operating less source temperature, and more suitability for stationery and transportation applications.
