Purpose Of Review: Chronic pain is highly prevalent and involves a complex interaction of sensory, emotional, and cognitive processes, significantly influenced by ambient temperature. Despite advances in pain management, many patients continue to experience inadequate pain relief. This review aims to consolidate and critically evaluate the current evidence on the impact of ambient temperature on chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia (FM), multiple sclerosis (MS), complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and osteoarthritis (OA).

Thrombocytopenia is a common complication in patients with solid tumors, particularly renal cell carcinoma (RCC), arising from mechanisms such as chemotherapy, direct tumor invasion, and paraneoplastic syndromes. Managing thrombocytopenia in advanced cancer presents significant challenges, often limiting therapeutic options and impacting patient outcomes. This case report describes a 62-year-old man with metastatic RCC complicated by persistent thrombocytopenia, unresponsive to both conventional treatments and novel therapies.

We reviewed fundamental studies on muscular pain, encompassing the characteristics of primary afferent fibers and neurons, spinal and thalamic projections, several muscular pain models, and possible neurochemical mechanisms of muscle pain. Most parts of this review were based on data obtained from animal experiments, and some researches on humans were also introduced. We focused on delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) induced by lengthening contractions (LC), suitable for studying myofascial pain syndromes.

Background: Biomarkers are used for long-term risk prediction of cardiovascular (CV) events in patients presenting with suspected acute coronary syndromes.
Objectives: This study investigated whether there are sex differences in the long-term prognostic value of biomarkers in patients presenting with suspected non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS).
Methods: High-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn), hs-cTnI, N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), growth differentiation factor (GDF)-15, and C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations were measured in 1,476 patients admitted with suspected NSTE-ACS.
