The general WAAVP (World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology) guideline on anthelmintic efficacy were prepared to assist researchers with the planning, conduct and interpretation of studies to assess the efficacy of anthelmintic drugs in food-producing and companion animals. General principles are outlined herein to assist in the preparation and execution of dosage determination, dosage confirmation and field studies, which are applicable to all animal host species. These general guidelines are complemented by revised species-specific guidelines, which provide more specific, updated and detailed guidance for each animal host species.

Importance: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer are the leading causes of mortality in the US. Large-scale population-based and mechanistic studies support a direct effect of CVD on accelerated tumor growth and spread, specifically in breast cancer.
Objective: To assess whether individuals presenting with advanced breast cancers are more likely to have prevalent CVD compared with those with early-stage breast cancers at the time of diagnosis.

Background: Data on tuberculosis (TB) incidence and risk factors among children living with HIV (CLHIV) in the universal ART era are limited.
Methods: We analysed routinely-collected data on TB diagnoses for CLHIV age ≤5 years, born 2018-2022, in the Westen Cape, South Africa. We examined factors associated with TB diagnosis, with death and loss to follow-up as competing events.

Purpose: To quantify outer retina structural changes and define novel biomarkers of inherited retinal degeneration associated with biallelic mutations in RPE65 (RPE65-IRD) in patients before and after subretinal gene augmentation therapy with voretigene neparvovec (Luxturna).
Methods: Application of advanced deep learning for automated retinal layer segmentation, specifically tailored for RPE65-IRD. Quantification of five novel biomarkers for the ellipsoid zone (EZ): thickness, granularity, reflectivity, and intensity.

Background: Noncompressible truncal hemorrhage is a major contributor to preventable deaths in trauma patients and, despite advances in emergency care, still poses a big challenge.
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the clinical efficacy of trauma resuscitation care incorporating Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA) compared to standard care for managing uncontrolled torso or lower body hemorrhage.
Methods: This study utilized a target trial design with a matched case-control methodology, emulating randomized 1 : 1 allocation for patients receiving trauma resuscitation care with or without the use of REBOA.
