L-asparaginase (asparagine amidohydrolase) contributes to 40% of the total enzyme demands worldwide and is one-third of the global requirement as an anti-cancerous drug in treating acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), a type of leukemia. This protein breaks down L-asparagine into aspartic acid and ammonia those involved in ALL, rely on for growth and survival. Both non-recombinant and recombinant L-asparaginase can be produced by bacteria when a suitable substrate and method (solid-state fermentation (SSF) or submerged fermentation (SmF) which are techniques to grow microorganisms under controlled conditions), is provided.

: Augmented reality (AR) may allow vitreoretinal surgeons to leverage microscope-integrated digital imaging systems to analyze and highlight key retinal anatomic features in real time, possibly improving safety and precision during surgery. By employing convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for retina vessel segmentation, a retinal coordinate system can be created that allows pre-operative images of capillary non-perfusion or retinal breaks to be digitally aligned and overlayed upon the surgical field in real time. Such technology may be useful in assuring thorough laser treatment of capillary non-perfusion or in using pre-operative optical coherence tomography (OCT) to guide macular surgery when microscope-integrated OCT (MIOCT) is not available.

This study examines the effects of gain-loss framing, messaging modality, peer influence, and individual factors such as social norms and self-efficacy on the attitudes and intentions to reduce sedentary behaviors among university students, specifically through (a) taking breaks and (b) taking 10,000 steps daily. We conducted a two-week health campaign field experiment on Instagram in January 2022, delivering ten posts with tailored messages to 284 university students in Singapore (valid N = 249). The participants were predominantly female (70.

Soil nitrogen content and pH value are two pivotal factors that critically determine soil fertility and plant growth. As key indicators of soil health, they each play distinct yet complementary roles in the soil ecosystem. Nitrogen is one of the essential nutrients for plant growth, while soil pH directly influences the activity of soil microorganisms.

The fundamental concept of this approach is to fuse an event-based camera and a low-speed frame-based camera to generate high-frame-rate videos by leveraging the strengths of both. Using a novel experimental setup, events and frames are accurately aligned in both space and time.
