Minoritized groups experience interpersonal, structural, and systemic marginalization that is also perpetuated within academic institutions. This marginalization produces barriers that exclude racial/ethnic minoritized groups within academic medicine from career opportunities and advancement. Racial/ethnic minoritized faculty are often expected to take on additional labor to serve the diversity needs of the program and/or institution that are often unrecognized or undervalued in the tenure or promotion process or detract from additional responsibilities.

Objective: Textbook Oncologic Outcome (TOO) is a composite measure that strongly predicts survival after surgery for advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (AEOC), regardless of approach: primary (PDS) or interval debulking surgery (IDS). We aimed to identify risk factors associated with failure to achieve TOO and to receive standard treatment (surgery and chemotherapy) for AEOC.
Methods: Patients diagnosed with AEOC between 2008 and 2019 were identified using the National Cancer Database.

In the US, racial/ethnic health disparities are undeniable. These disparities partially stem from residing in low socioeconomic neighborhoods, a circumstance to which racial/ethnic minorities are disproportionately exposed. Associations between socioeconomic status (SES) and health may have some underlying molecular mechanisms reflected in the epigenome.

Objective: To investigate the association of maternal race/ethnicity with risk factors for brachial plexus birth injury (BPBI) and quantify the proportion of excess BPBI risk due to these factors.
Study Design: This retrospective cohort study of all livebirths occurring in California-licensed hospitals from 1996-2012 included 6,278,562 maternal-livebirth infant pairs with 7762 BPBI diagnoses. Multiple logistic regression and causal mediation analyses were used to evaluate the relationship of race/ethnicity and BPBI risk factors.

Background: We investigated racial and ethnic disparities in telehealth counseling among Medicaid-insured patients in outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment clinics and assessed whether the clinic-level proportion of Medicaid-insured patients moderated these disparities.
Methods: Using New York State (NYS) Medicaid and statewide treatment registry data, we analyzed 24,814 admission episodes across 399 outpatient SUD clinics during the first 6 months of COVID-19 (April-September 2020). Our outcome measure was the number of tele-counseling sessions within the first 90 days of treatment.
