Electromyography (EMG) is increasingly used in stroke assessment research, with studies showing that EMG co-contraction (EMG-CC) of upper limb muscles can differentiate stroke patients from healthy individuals and correlates with clinical scales assessing motor function. This suggests that EMG-CC has potential for both assessing motor impairments and monitoring recovery in stroke patients. However, systematic reviews on EMG-CC's effectiveness in stroke assessment are lacking.

Recent advances in bioengineering have made it possible to develop increasingly complex biological systems to recapitulate organ functions as closely as possible in vitro. Monitoring the assembly and growth of multi-cellular aggregates, micro-tissues or organoids and extracting quantitative information is a crucial but challenging task required to decipher the underlying morphogenetic mechanisms. We present here an imaging platform designed to be accommodated inside an incubator which provides high-throughput monitoring of cell assemblies over days and weeks.

Purpose Of Review: This review evaluates recent advancements in Technetium-99 m pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) imaging for transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). We summarize the advantages of single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) over planar imaging, the potential impact of quantitative methods, and emerging data for quantifying response to therapy.
Recent Findings: The current literature demonstrates the superior diagnostic accuracy of SPECT compared with planar imaging in 99mTc-PYP studies.

Catechins in tea, as promoters of human health, have attracted widespread attention. Herein, a dual-signal mode (colorimetric and fluorescence) sensor array for catechin species fingerprinting was built based on PtNi bunched nanoparticle (PtNi-BNP)--phenylenediamine (OPD)-HO system. PtNi-BNPs catalyze the reaction between OPD and HO to produce oxidized OPD (oxOPD) with both colorimetric (yellow) and fluorescent properties.

In recent decades, it has become increasingly clear that mammalian gametes and early embryos are highly sensitive to metabolic substrates. With advances in single-cell sequencing, metabolomics, and bioinformatics, we now recognize that metabolic pathways not only meet cellular energy demands but also play a critical role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and fate determination. Investigating metabolic processes during oocyte maturation and early embryonic development is thus essential to advancing reproductive medicine and embryology.
