The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between participation in physical activity and subjective class identity of people in urban and rural areas of China. The effect of social class identity on residents' physical activity was tested using the Monte Carlo method. There is a positive correlation between physical activity and the subjective class identity of urban and rural residents ( = 0.351, < 0.01). It has been also seen that subjective class identity can significantly improve residents' physical activity. The path coefficient of subjective class identity to residents' physical activity was 0.12 ( < 0.003). Therefore, national and local governments should promote the equalization of physical activities by providing public services and government transfer payments in urban and rural areas, improve the physical activity by improving subjective class identity and promote social progress.

This paper describes the use of the layered conductive metal-organic framework (MOF) (nickel)-(hexahydroxytriphenylene) [Ni(HHTP)] as a model system for understanding the process of self-assembly within this class of materials. We confirm and quantify experimentally the role of the oxidant in the synthetic process. Monitoring the deposition of Ni(HHTP) with infrared spectroscopy revealed that MOF formation is characterized by an initial induction period, followed by linear growth with respect to time.

In this article we explore some of the processes involved in dealing with Social Difference (SD) in coaching. Using examples from our own practice, we consider several factors, including the identity work involved in navigating the experience of SD in one-to-one coaching. Dealing with experiences of difference, including social class, gender, race, ability, and sexuality can invoke complicated and powerful feelings.

Transition metal mechanophores exhibiting force-activated spin-crossover are attractive design targets, yet large-scale discovery of them has not been pursued due in large part to the time-consuming nature of trial-and-error experiments. Instead, we leverage density functional theory (DFT) and external force explicitly included (EFEI) modeling to study a set of 395 feasible Fe and Co mechanophore candidates with tridentate ligands that we curate from the Cambridge Structural Database. Among nitrogen-coordinating low-spin complexes, we observe the prevalence of spin crossover at moderate force, and we identify 155 Fe and Co spin-crossover mechanophores and derive their threshold force for low-spin to high-spin transition ().

SurgiTrack: Fine-grained multi-class multi-tool tracking in surgical videos.

Med Image Anal

University of Strasbourg, CAMMA, ICube, CNRS, INSERM, France; IHU Strasbourg, Strasbourg, France.

Accurate tool tracking is essential for the success of computer-assisted intervention. Previous efforts often modeled tool trajectories rigidly, overlooking the dynamic nature of surgical procedures, especially tracking scenarios like out-of-body and out-of-camera views. Addressing this limitation, the new CholecTrack20 dataset provides detailed labels that account for multiple tool trajectories in three perspectives: (1) intraoperative, (2) intracorporeal, and (3) visibility, representing the different types of temporal duration of tool tracks.

[Genetic diseases of epigenetic machinery].

Med Sci (Paris)

December 2024

Université Paris Cité, CNRS UMR7216, Épigénétique et destin cellulaire, Paris, France.

The development of sequencing technologies and their increased accessibility in clinical services and genetic laboratories have considerably accelerated the identification of genetic variants associated with rare diseases (RDs). Among these, Mendelian disorders of the epigenetic machinery (MDEM) are rare monogenic diseases characterized by the presence of mutations in genes encoding epigenetic regulators that play a key role in organismal development and cellular functions. Loss of function of these regulators is expected to lead to epigenetic modifications that profoundly affect genome expression and cellular identity.
