Introduction: Factors such as compliance, cost and safety play a major role in achieving the long-term goal in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Dapagliflozin carries a great potential of becoming an alternate-day therapy because of its favorable pharmacological properties.
Areas Covered: In this review, we have discussed and hypothesized the potential of dapagliflozin as an alternate-day add-on drug in T2DM patients. We have discussed the properties by virtue of which it carries a potential to become an alternate-day therapy. We have also explained the potential benefits and concerns of using this approach.
Expert Opinion: Alternate-day add-on therapy with dapagliflozin could be a promising approach in reducing the cost, improving the treatment satisfaction and reducing the adverse effects. However, this propsed indication demands an in-depth investigation among T2DM subjects who are not able to achieve glycemic control with standard monotherapy or combination therapy. Pilot studies or some small-scale investigator-initiated trials or academic clinical trials may be carried out to explore this concept. At the same time, large industry sponsored multicenter clinical trials including pharmacoeconomic analyses may be planned to have a more detailed investigation.

Aims: Niacin (NIA) supplementation showed effectiveness against Parkinson's disease (PD) in clinical trials. The depletion of NAD and endoplasmic reticulum stress response (ERSR) are implicated in the pathogenesis of PD, but the potential role for NAD precursors on ERSR is not yet established. This study was undertaken to decipher NIA molecular mechanisms against PD-accompanied ERSR, especially in relation to PKC.

Background And Aims: Airborne Low Intensity Multi frequency Ultrasound (ALIMFUS) uses thermal and non thermal principal of ultrasound to facilitate transportation of drugs into the cells and it's metabolism. This is randomized, multi-center, Double Blind, Interventional, Placebo Controlled Study to evaluate efficacy and safety of ALIMFUS as an Add-on therapy to Oral Hypoglycemic Agent (OHA) in Type 2 DM.
Methods: Total 103/186 subjects completed the study and received 10 min either ALIMFUS therapy on alternate day for 90 days or placebo.

Objective: To examine the efficacy and safety of combination treatment with testosterone replacement therapy plus alternate-day tadalafil (10 mg) in patients with late-onset hypogonadism.
Methods: In this open-label, randomized, crossover study, 29 patients with late-onset hypogonadism were randomly assigned to receive testosterone replacement therapy for 12 weeks followed by combination treatment for 12 weeks (Group 1) or combination treatment for 12 weeks followed by testosterone replacement therapy (Group 2). Symptom questionnaires were administered and blood tests were performed prior to and following each treatment to assess safety and efficacy.
