Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is the causative agent of infectious diseases worldwide. Oxadiazole derivatives have many biological activities and can be a good alternative to antimicrobial drugs. In this study, the quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) of fifty-one novel oxadiazoles derivatives has been studied using the density functional theory (DFT) and statistical methods. Becke's three-parameter hybrid method and the Lee-Yang-Parr B3LYP functional employing 6-31++G (d) basis set are used to calculated quantum chemical descriptors using Gaussian09 software. The other descriptors including Lipinski, physicochemistry, topological, etc. were calculated using Chembio3d software. Statistically, the best correlation between the independent variables and the PMIC as the dependent variable was a 6-variable equation for which the correlation coefficient were as follows = 0.86 and = 0.93. Also, the values of MAE = 0.003 and = 0.9 confirm the acceptability of the obtained model. The obtained equation shows that NRB, energy gap (ΔE), Henry's law constant, O-C, and C-N bonds length, and the Free Gibbs energy have the highest correlation with the anti-Tb activity.

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic drug that is abused by teenagers and young adults, commonly for recreational purposes in dance clubs, to generate euphoria and dissociation, and sometimes employed as a date-rape drug. Herein, a highly sensitive, and environmentally friendly spectrofluorimetric method was developed for detection of ketamine in pharmaceutical and plasma samples. The technique is based on a nucleophilic substitution reaction occurring between ketamine and NBD-Cl (4-chloro-7-nitrobenzo-2-oxa-1,3-diazole), resulting in the formation of a fluorescent derivative that exhibits detectability at a remarkable level.

Plant-parasitic nematodes pose a significant threat to crop production, impacting agricultural yields. In the search for new nematicides, a series of 1,2,4-oxadiazole-5-carboxylic acid derivatives containing amide or ester groups were designed and synthesized using an activity-based approach. Bioassay results showed that some compounds exhibited good nematicidal activity against , , and .

Phospholipid flippases in the P4-ATPase family are essential for establishing membrane asymmetry. These ATP-powered pumps translocate specific lipids from the exofacial leaflet to the cytosolic leaflet of the plasma membrane, thereby concentrating substrate lipids, such as phosphatidylserine, in the cytosolic leaflet while non-substrate lipids populate the exofacial leaflet. Here, we describe a method for measuring P4-ATPase transport activity in the yeast plasma membrane by using flow cytometry to quantify the uptake of lipids derivatized with a fluorescent [7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl)amino] (NBD) group on a short (C6) fatty acyl chain.

The evolution of energetic materials science presents new challenging tasks associated with the creation of advanced technologies for sustainable development of the future. In this work, a set of new heat-resistant high-energy materials incorporating the polynitrophenyl-1,2,5-oxadiazole scaffold enriched with azo/azoxy moieties have been designed and synthesized. Due to a smart combination of explosophoric groups and 1,2,5-oxadiazole rings, the prepared high-energy substances have excellent thermal stability (up to 300 °C), good densities (up to 1.
