Acrorenal syndrome is autosomal recessive inherited disorder commonly associated with congenital renal disorders and ipsilateral hand/foot anomalies. The hand and foot deformities corrections are challenging to achieve a good functional and cosmetic result. We described a case of acrorenal syndrome with suppressed radial elements and absent thumb in whom we were able to reconstruct the hand. A 5-year-old girl presented to us with right renal agenesis and right hand/foot deformity. The hand showed a cleft hand with central deficiency, index finger hypoplastic, and syndactylyzed to middle finger, absent thumb. The hand was nonfunctional because of absent thumb. To improve the functions, it was decided to proceed with thumb reconstruction. The middle finger was pollicized to regain tripod grip and thereby the functions was enhanced. The cleft hand belongs to "failure of finger ray induction group" in classification by "International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH)." Absence of thumb and first web space makes it a strong indication for surgical reconstruction. In our case, thumb was addressed by pollicization of middle finger and we were able to provide a good tripod grip.

Diabetes is known to reduce blood circulation in capillaries and arterioles; however, no devices can easily measure this on a daily basis. In this study, we developed a tool for measuring finger photoplethysmograms using green light and near-infrared LEDs. Thereafter, photoplethysmography was conducted on 25 inpatients/outpatients with diabetes and 21 adult males and females who had not been diagnosed with or treated for diabetes, hypertension, or cardiovascular disease (control group).

Background: Low-energy far-infrared rays (FIRs) are widely used in the treatment of wounds, lymphedema, and various vascular diseases, and various types of products that emit infrared rays are being used at home for patients with blood flow-related diseases without experimental evidence.
Methods: Blood flow and epidermal temperature were measured while applying conductive heat and FIRs via an electric mat (non-intervention) or a loess bio-ball mat (intervention).
Results: In the control group ( = 30), there was a minimal change in blood flow and epidermal temperature in the right and left middle fingers (LMF, RMF) as the mat temperature gradually increased.

Background And Purpose: To develop a new test to assess the motor coordination of the upper limbs, and to investigate the test-retest and inter-rater reliability, construct validity, standard error of measurement (SEM), minimum detectable change (MDC), and the reference values.
Methods: The Upper Extremity Motor Coordination Test (UEMOCOT)was applied for 20 s, with the individual touching two targets (one right and one left) as quickly as possible, first with the hand (manual task) and then with the index finger (finger task). To test-retest reliability, the UEMOCOT was administered two times.
