Computed tomography coronary angiography (cCTA) is a safe option for the noninvasive exclusion of significant coronary stenoses in patients with a low or moderate pretest probability for coronary artery disease (CAD). Furthermore, it also allows functional and morphological assessment of coronary stenoses. The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines on the diagnosis and management of chronic coronary syndrome published in 2019 have strengthened the importance of cCTA in this context and for this reason it has experienced a considerable upgrade. The determination of the Agatston score is a clinically established method for quantifying coronary calcification and influences the initiation of drug treatment. With technologies, such as the introduction of electrocardiography (ECG)-controlled dose modulation and iterative image reconstruction, cCTA can be performed with high image quality and low radiation exposure. Anatomic imaging of coronary stenoses alone is currently being augmented by innovative techniques, such as myocardial CT perfusion imaging or CT-fractional flow reserve (FFR) but the clinical value of these methods merits further investigation. The cCTA could therefore develop into a gatekeeper with respect to the indications for invasive coronary diagnostics and interventions.

Purpose: Over time, transit time flow measurement (TTFM) has proven itself as a simple and effective tool for intra-operative evaluation of coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs). However, metrics used to screen for possible technical error show considerable spread, preventing the definition of sharp cut-off values to distinguish between patent, questionable, and failed grafts. The simulation study presented in this paper aims to quantify this uncertainty for commonly used patency metrics, and to identify the most important physiological parameters influencing it.

Introduction: Elevated central aortic pressure, cardiac output and peripheral vascular resistance contribute to high morbidity in relation to end organ dysfunction in obstructive and non-obstructive coronary artery disease (NOCAD) cases despite revascularization. Bisoprolol preempts further progression of left ventricular dysfunction in such cases due to anti-ischemic and anti-hypertensive effects, further extending its evaluation in local Indian settings.
Methods: Post-hoc analyses of NOCAD patients with epicardial stenosis (N=378, 30 to 70% stenosis) from cross-sectional analyses conducted across eighty centers in India.
Coronary anatomy governs local haemodynamics associated with atherosclerotic development, progression and ultimately adverse clinical outcomes. However, lack of large sample size studies and methods to link adverse haemodynamics to anatomical information has hindered meaningful insights to date. The Left Main coronary bifurcations of 127 patients with suspected coronary artery disease in the absence of significant stenosis were segmented from CTCA images before computing the local haemodynamics.
