Objective: To evaluate changes in retrobulbar ocular blood flow parameters by using Colour Doppler Imaging (CDI) and changes in foveal microvasculature by using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) in pediatric obese patients and to compare them with a group of healthy children.

Methods: Children diagnosed with obesity without hypertension and diabetes (39 subjects, obese group) and age-matched healthy controls (26 subjects, control group) underwent CDI and OCTA imaging. Peak systolic velocity, end-diastolic velocity and resistivity index from ophthalmic, central retinal and posterior ciliary arteries on CDI; superficial and deep capillary plexus vascular density and foveal avascular zone area on OCTA imaging were obtained in each group. Central foveal and subfoveal choroidal thicknesses were also measured. CDI and OCTA parameters were compared between two groups.

Results: Peak systolic and end-diastolic velocities were found to be significantly lower in obese children than in controls in all three examined arteries (p < 0.05). Resistivity index values were similar between the groups. OCTA imaging did not reveal significant changes in superficial and deep capillary plexus vascular densities and foveal avascular zone area across analysed retinal regions between the groups. Subfoveal choroid was thicker in obese group than in control group (325.89 ± 52.77 µm vs. 304.52 ± 21.76 µm, p = 0.04).

Conclusion: An apparent decrease was present in retrobulbar hemodynamics in obese children. This arises the possibility of early ocular macrovascular compromise rather than retinal microvascular impairment in childhood obesity.

The reaction of cadmium iodide with 3-amino-pyrazole (3-apz) in ethano-lic solution leads to tautomerization of the ligand and the formation of crystals of the title compound, -poly[[di-iodido-cadmium(II)]-bis-(μ-3-amino-1-pyrazole)-κ : ;κ : ], [CdI(CHN)] or [CdI(3-apz)] . Its asymmetric unit consists of a half of a Cd cation, an iodide anion and a 3-apz mol-ecule. The Cd cations are coordinated by two iodide anions and two 3-apz ligands, generating -CdNI octa-hedra, which are linked into chains by pairs of the bridging ligands.

Objective: To evaluate the alterations in retrobulbar color Doppler imaging (CDI) parameters and retinal/choroidal optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) parameters and their association with the clinical activity and severity in thyroid-associated orbitopathy (TAO) patients.

Methods: In this study, the retrobulbar flow parameters including resistance index (RI), Pulsatile Index(PI), peak systolic velocity (PSV) and end diastolic velocity (EDV) in posterior ciliary artery (PCA), central retinal artery (CRA) and ophthalmic artery (OA) were determined by CDI. Moreover, the retina and choroidal vascularity including the superficial vessel density (SVD), deep vessel density (DVD), choroidal thickness (ChT) and choroidal vascularity, including total choroidal area (TCA), luminal area (LA), stromal area (SA) and Choroidal Vascularity Index (CVI), were determined by OCTA.

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a vascular disease among preterm infants involving incomplete or abnormal retinal vascularization and is a leading cause of preventable blindness globally. Measurements of ocular blood flow originating from a variety of imaging modalities, including colour Doppler imaging (CDI), fluorescein angiography (FA) and ocular coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), have been associated with changes in ROP patients. Herein, we discuss and summarize the relevant current literature on vascular imaging and ROP reviewed through December 2022.

The reactions of cadmium bromide and cadmium iodide with pyridazine (CHN) in ethanol under solvothermal conditions led to the formation of crystals of [CdBr(pyridazine)] () and [CdI(pyridazine)] (), which were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The asymmetric units of both compounds consist of a cadmium cation located on the inter-section point of a twofold screw axis and a mirror plane (2/), a halide anion that is located on a mirror plane and a pyridazine ligand, with all atoms occupying Wyckoff position 4 (2). These compounds are isotypic and consist of cadmium cations that are octa-hedrally coordinated by four halide anions and two pyridazine ligands and are linked into [100] chains by pairs of μ-1,1-bridging halide anions and bridging pyridazine ligands.

OCTA and Doppler Ultrasound in Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma and Normal-Tension Glaucoma.

Life (Basel)

The aim of this study was to determine whether the values of vessel density (VD) and perfusion parameters in the ophthalmic artery (OA) and central retinal artery (CRA) of the same eye differ in patients with hypertensive glaucoma (HTG) from patients with normotensive glaucoma (NTG). The first group consisted of 20 HTG patients (40 eyes). Patients with HTG were verified to have primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
