Although the use of network simulator (NS) in predicting the behavior of computer networks has increased, the users often face a variety of challenges and share them on Stack Overflow (SO). However, the challenges that users deal with have not been studied. This paper presents an NS discussion dataset extracted from SOTorrent, which consists of 2,322 NS-related question posts spanning 17 features. The process of data collection was conducted in five steps, including filtering initial post dataset using simulator tags, discovering NS-related tags, collecting the tagged posts, extracting the posts title and preprocessing for LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation), and finally applying the LDA topic modeling to obtain the NS posts clustered into eight different topic names. We believe that this dataset will help research community in highlighting issues faced by NS users.

This paper presents research on the security performance of a multi-user interference-based mixed RF/FSO system based on SWIPT untrusted relay. In this work, the RF and FSO channels experience Nakagami-m fading distribution and Málaga (M) turbulence, respectively. Multiple users transmit messages to the destination with the help of multiple cooperating relays, one of which may become an untrusted relay as an insider attacker.

Recently, massive intelligent applications have emerged for the smart grid (SG), such as inspection and sensing. To support these applications, there have been high requirements on wireless communication for the SG, especially in remote areas. To tackle these challenges, a UAV-assisted heterogeneous wireless network is proposed in this paper for the SG, where multiple UAVs and a macro base station collaboratively provide a wide range of communication services.

This paper proposes a green computing strategy for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks (LSNs), addressing energy efficiency and delay optimization in dynamic and energy-constrained environments. By integrating a Markov Decision Process (MDP) with a Double Deep Q-Network (Double DQN) and introducing the Energy-Delay Ratio (EDR) metric, this study effectively quantifies and balances energy savings with delay costs. Simulations demonstrate significant energy savings, with reductions of up to 47.

Public transportation systems play a vital role in modern cities, but they face growing security challenges, particularly related to incidents of violence. Detecting and responding to violence in real time is crucial for ensuring passenger safety and the smooth operation of these transport networks. To address this issue, we propose an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solution for identifying unsafe behaviours in public transport.

Over the past twenty years, camera networks have become increasingly popular. In response to various demands imposed on these networks, several coverage models have been developed in the scientific literature, such as area, trap, barrier, and target coverage. In this paper, a new type of coverage task, the Maximum Target Coverage with k-Barrier Coverage (MTCBC-k) problem, is defined.
