The lateral pectoral nerve is often injured along with the brachial plexus, but its isolated lesions are rare. We report a clinical case of an isolated lateral pectoral nerve injury, presenting as a refractory right shoulder and pectoral pain, determining functional repercussion. After clinical assessment and imaging investigation, it was considered that the pain source was likely to be a lateral pectoral nerve mononeuropathy. Thus, a diagnostic ultrasound-guided nerve block was performed, with a major improvement in the patient's symptoms and functionality for two months. Thereafter, a long-lasting alternative was proposed - pulsed radiofrequency. As a form of neuromodulation, pulsed radiofrequency offers pain control without tissue damage or painful sequelae, which is usually associated with conventional radiofrequency.

The deep-sea demersal fish fauna is characterized by a prevalence of elongated-body forms with long tapering tails. Using baited camera landers at depths of 4500-6300 m in the Pacific Ocean, we observed multiple instances of backward swimming using reverse undulation of the slender body in four species: the cutthroat eel Ilyophis robinsae, abyssal grenadier Coryphaenoides yaquinae, and cusk-eels Bassozetus sp. and Barathrites iris.

Introduction: Chronic shoulder pain caused by a rotator cuff tear is commonly treated with arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery (ARCR). However, ARCR may be associated with moderate-to-severe postoperative pain, and poorly controlled pain can result in delayed functional recovery and the development of frozen shoulder. Terminal sensory articular nerve radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has been shown to be clinically effective in patients with severe refractory shoulder pain from multiple etiologies.

A new species of jawfish genus is described based on a specimen collected from a beach in the Peng-hu Islands during a cold snap. The new species, , differs from its congeners in having a rigid upper jaw, 10-11 + 1 + 19-22 = 31-33 gill rakers, 55 scale rows in lateral series, 10 + 16 = 26 vertebrae, the terminus of the lateral line at the base of the fourth segmented dorsal-fin ray (15 in total rays), the head, nape, dorsal-fin base above lateral line, throat, chest, and pectoral-fin base naked, dorsal fin with eight blotches along its entire base, body with five horizontal dark stripes, nape with two dark blotches in front of the dorsal-fin origin, and a caudal fin with five narrow, dark bands. A detailed description is provided and compared to its similar congeners.

Background: The ability to generate endogenous Cre recombinase drivers using CRISPR-Cas9 knock-in technology allows lineage tracing, cell type specific gene studies, and validation of inferred developmental trajectories from phenotypic and gene expression analyses. This report describes endogenous zebrafish Cre and CreERT2 drivers generated with GeneWeld CRISPR-Cas9 precision targeted integration.
Results: and knock-ins crossed with ubiquitous -based Switch reporters led to broad labeling in expected mesodermal and neural crest-derived lineages in cardiac, pectoral fins, pharyngeal arch, liver, intestine, and mesothelial tissues, as well as enteric neurons.

The abscopal effect refers to an anti-tumor response that occurs in areas where radiotherapy (RT) has not been directly administered but is triggered by the immune system. We presented a case of an undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma with three relapses that showed a complete response after distant metastatic disease. The tumor was initially detected in the left pectoral muscle.
