Sleep spindles are cortical electrical oscillations considered critical for memory consolidation and sleep stability. The timing and pattern of sleep spindles are likely to be important in driving synaptic plasticity during sleep as well as preventing disruption of sleep by sensory and internal stimuli. However, the relative importance of factors such as sleep depth, cortical up/down-state, and temporal clustering in governing sleep spindle dynamics remains poorly understood.

Due to limited slip systems activated at room temperature, the plastic deformation of Mg and its alloys without any preheating of initial billets is significantly limited. To overcome those issues, new methods of severe plastic deformation are discovered and developed. One such example is extrusion with an oscillating die, called KoBo.

Daily restricted environmental enrichment (REE) refers to limited, structured periods of enrichment aimed at improving both physical and cognitive well-being in animals and humans. This review explores the significance of REE, focusing on studies that investigate 2 and 3 h daily enrichment protocols. Through an analysis of 21 key studies, this paper highlights how even brief periods of REE can lead to substantial improvements in brain plasticity, cognitive function, and stress resilience.

Mild cognitive impairment is a diagnostic category marked by declines in memory and cognitive function that are less severe than those observed in Alzheimer's disease. Previous studies have indicated that individuals with mild cognitive impairment have an elevated risk of progressing to Alzheimer's disease. The hippocampus is well known to play pivotal roles in memory and cognitive functions.

Biosynthetic mesh has become more popular for immediate breast cancer implant-based reconstruction as an alternative to acellular dermal matrix (ADM) for soft tissue support. This meta-analysis investigates the various biosynthetic options available as well as complications and outcomes. PubMed, MEDLINE, and Embase were systematically reviewed for studies investigating the following types of mesh, TIGR, Vicryl, PDO, TiLOOP, Durasorb, and Galaflex, and their associated outcomes.
