Unlabelled: Antibiotic resistance is frequently observed shortly after the clinical introduction of an antibiotic. Whether and how frequently that resistance occurred before the introduction is harder to determine, as isolates could not have been tested for resistance before an antibiotic was discovered. Historical collections, like the British National Collection of Type Cultures (NCTC), stretching back to 1885, provide a window into this history.

: Combining autologous fat grafting with implant placement is meant to improve the quality of implant-based breast reconstruction. The present study explores the concept of multi-stage composite breast reconstruction with repeated sessions of autologous fat grafting to increase mastectomy flap thickness and provide better pre-pectoral implant coverage. : Twenty-five consecutive patients underwent bilateral multi-stage composite expander-to-implant breast reconstruction and reverse expansion from August 2020 to April 2024.

Efficiency demands that we work smarter and not harder, but is this better for our wellbeing? Here, we ask if exerting effort on a task can increase feelings of meaning and purpose. In six studies (N = 2883), we manipulated how much effort participants exerted on a task and then assessed how meaningful they found those tasks. In Studies 1 and 2, we presented hypothetical scenarios whereby participants imagined themselves (or others) exerting more or less effort on a writing task, and then asked participants how much meaning they believed they (or others) would derive.
