Three-dimensional bone reconstructions from medical imaging are essential for biomechanical modelling and are growing tools in clinics. Several methods of lower limbs reconstruction from biplanar radiographs have been proposed in the literature but with significant operator dependence. A novel reconstruction method based on reduced manual annotation, statistical shape models and fully automatic adjustments was proposed in this study. While significantly reducing operator intervention, the proposed method demonstrated similar or better precision than previous approaches on clinical parameters. Meanwhile, shape accuracy was improved to around 1mm. By quasi-automating the 3D reconstruction without loss of accuracy and precision, the proposed approach is a considerable step towards extensive use of 3D personalized models in clinical routine and large cohort biomechanical studies.

Objective: This study sought to investigate the changes in plasma D-dimer levels during catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) in patients with acute lower extremity deep venous thrombosis (DVT), analyze imaging results, and assess their clinical implications.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 62 patients diagnosed with acute lower extremity DVT who underwent CDT between March 2019 and December 2022. Plasma D-dimer levels were measured before CDT, at regular intervals after CDT, and at the end of CDT.

Background: Calf muscle weakness is a common symptom in slowly progressive neuromuscular disorders that lead to walking problems like instability and increased walking effort. The mainstay of treatment to improve walking in this population is the provision of ankle-foot-orthoses (AFOs). Since we are not aware of an up-to-date and complete overview of the effects of AFOs used for calf muscle weakness in slowly progressive neuromuscular disorders, we reviewed the evidence for the effectiveness of AFOs to improve walking in this patient group, in order to support clinical decision-making.

Minimal change disease (MCD) accounts for 10 - 15% of idiopathic nephrotic syndromes in adults. Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is rarely ascribed as a cause of MCD and was previously associated with interferon-based therapy. MCD in treatment-naïve chronic HCV infection is extremely rare, with only 3 cases reported in the literature.

This case report highlights the rare presentation of an acute thoracic disc herniation in a 27-year-old male. Thoracic disc herniations are uncommon, accounting for less than 1% of all disc herniations, and acute presentations have scantly been recorded in literature. The patient, a mechanic, presented with a sudden onset of dorsal pain and bilateral lower limb weakness after lifting heavy equipment, leading to a sudden cease of most motor functions in the patient's lower limbs.

Background: Sarcopenia is characterized by the progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass and poses a significant health challenge for older adults by increasing the risk of disability and decreasing quality of life. Yoga considers as a low-risk and beneficial exercise for older adults. This research aims to evaluate the potential of yoga practice as a preventive strategy against sarcopenia in Indonesian older adults.
