Epitranscriptomic modifications on RNA play critical roles in stability, processing, and function, partly by influencing interactions with RNA-binding proteins and receptors. The role of post-transcriptional RNA modifications on cell-free non-coding small RNA (sRNA) remains poorly understood in disease contexts. High-density lipoproteins (HDL), which transport sRNAs, can lose their beneficial properties in atherosclerosis cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).

The present work aimed to examine the primary mechanisms of liver damage, namely the impact of gut-derived endotoxins along the gut-liver axis and adipose-derived free fatty acids along the adipose-liver axis. These processes are known to play a significant role in the development of hepatic inflammation and steatosis. Although possible overlapping in the pathogenesis was expected, these processes have unique pathophysiological consequences.

Metastasis in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma has been associated with a poor prognosis. However, sensitive and reliable tests for monitoring their occurrence are unavailable, with the exception of PET-CT. Circulating tumor cells and cell-free DNA have emerged as promising biomarkers for determining treatment efficacy and as prognostic predictors in solid tumors such as breast cancer and colorectal cancer.

Glucose-dependent insulin delivery systems have been recognized as a promising approach for controlling blood sugar levels in individuals with diabetes mellitus (DM). Recently, titanium dioxide nanoparticles have garnered huge attention in scientific research for their small size and effective drug delivery capabilities. In this study, we developed alizarin (AL)-capped phenylboronic acid (PBA)-functionalized titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO) for glucose-sensitive insulin delivery (TiO-PBA-INS-AL) aiming to manage both blood sugar levels and its associated organ pathology in DM.

Background: In cell-free and concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART), filtration membrane obstruction during the ascites processing step is an important clinical problem. A novel membrane designed polyether sulfone filter (n-PES) was developed to reduce filter membrane obstruction. However, no clinical studies have compared the performance of n-PES filters with that of conventional filters.
