Soybean is a rich source of folates. We optimised the extraction and detection of folates from soybean seeds by HPLC-MS/MS and analysed the folate content and composition of 1074 accessions. Total folate content ranged from 64.51 to 691.24 μg/100 g fresh weight, with 10-fold variation, and 60 elite accessions with over 400 μg/100 g of total folate were identified. The most abundant component was 5-CHO-Hfolate, which accounted for an average of 60% of total folate content. Seed-coat colour, seed weight, ecoregion, and accession type significantly affected soybean folate content. Furthermore, 5-CH-Hfolate correlated positively with seed protein (r = 0.24***) and negatively with oil (r = -0.26***). The geographical distribution of folate according to accession origin revealed that accessions from Northeast China contain higher amounts of total folate and 5-CHO-Hfolate. This study provides comprehensive and novel insights into the folate profile of soybean, which will benefit soybean breeding for folate enhancement.

Objective: This study aims to identify whether the development of insulin resistance (IR) induced by high selenium (Se) is related to serine deficiency via the inhibition of the de novo serine synthesis pathway (SSP) by the administrations of 3-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH) inhibitor (NCT503) or exogenous serine in mice.
Method: forty-eight male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into four groups: adequate-Se (0.1 mgSe/kg), high-Se (0.

This study evaluated the influences of coated folic acid (CFA) and folic acid (FA) on lactation performance, apparent digestibility, rumen volatile fatty acid (VFA) production, blood metabolism, and hepatic lipid content in cows. A total of 140 Holstein cows were allocated to seven groups in a randomized block design. Cows in the control received no addition, those in the in low CFA (LCFA), medium CFA (MCFA), and high CFA (HCFA) groups received CFA at 135, 270, and 405 mg FA/d, and those in the low FA (LFA), medium FA (MFA), and high FA (HFA) groups received FA at 135, 270, and 405 mg/d.

2,6-Dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone (2,6-DCBQ) is an emerging chlorinated disinfection byproduct (DBP) in bodies of water. However, this compound poses an unknown toxic effect on cyanobacteria. In this study, the toxicological mechanisms of 2,6-DCBQ in () were investigated through physiological and nontargeted metabolomic assessments.

Background: As the common antibacterial drugs in folic acid oral liquid, parabens are listed as mandatory substances in the quality standard. Both the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and the United States Pharmacopoeia use high performance liquid chromatography for the determination of folic acid, but the quantitative methods of parabens are different. Pharmacopoeias use different instruments to quantify folic acid and parabens, resulting in cumbersome and cumbersome detection methods.

Introduction: Monitoring and evaluation of maternal and child nutrition programs typically concentrates on overall population-level results. There is limited understanding, however, of how intervention reach and expected outcomes differ among sub-populations, necessary insight for addressing inequalities. These analyses aim to determine if maternal exposure to social and behavior change (SBC) interventions is associated with scales of maternal practices (antenatal care, iron and folic acid in pregnancy, diet in pregnancy, postnatal care, iron and folic acid postpartum, and maternal dietary diversity) and child practices (institutional birth, health mothers' group participation, growth monitoring and promotion, early initiation of breastfeeding and infant and young child feeding) in Nepal, overall and by wealth, caste, and geography.
