We report on the clinical and histological course of a lymphoma-like process similar to Crosti's dorsal reticulosis. Histological findings revealed a non-epidermotropic mixed cellular infiltration of histiocytes und T-lymphocytes with high and spontaneous cell destruction. We also observed high radiosensitivity.

Gianotti-Crosti syndrome (GCS) is a viral-associated eruption that most commonly occurs in children aged 15 months to 2 years. It consists of monomorphic red-brown to pink papules and vesicles distributed symmetrically on the cheeks, extensor surface of the extremities, and buttocks. The eruption usually spontaneously resolves over the course of 10 to 60 days.

A 71-year-old woman presented with multiple, flesh-colored, papular lesions on the left dorsal side of the hand which had erupted 5 years earlier. No cafè-au-lait spots, freckles, or Lisch nodules were detected. Family history did not disclose neurofibromas or abnormal pigmentation.

Crosti's reticulosis is defined as a peculiar form of well-circumscribed, slow developing lymphomas in adults, with a malignant histological picture. Three cases with typical dorsal localisation according to Crosti's first description are reported and the cardinal features of this type of tumour are recalled. One observation includes an ultrastructural study which confirms the malignant nature of histiocytes in this disease.
