In this present study, we developed and characterized a series of supramolecular G4 hydrogels by integrating -cyclodextrin (-CD) and boronic acid linkers into a supramolecular matrix to enhance antibacterial activity against (). We systematically investigated how varying the number of free boronic acid moieties (ranging from two to six), along with guanosine and β-CD content, influences both the structural integrity and antimicrobial efficacy of these materials. Comprehensive characterization using FTIR, circular dichroism, X-ray diffraction, SEM, AFM, and rheological measurements confirmed successful synthesis and revealed that higher boronic acid content correlated with a stronger, more organized network.

A new composite material with enhanced sorption-selective properties for uranium recovery from liquid media has been obtained. Sorbents were synthesized through a polycondensation reaction of a mixture of 4-amino-N'-hydroxy-1,2,5-oxadiazole-3-carboximidamide (hereinafter referred to as amidoxime) and SiO in an environment of organic solvents (acetic acid, dioxane) and highly porous SiO. To establish optimal conditions for forming the polymer sorption-active part and the synthesis as a whole, a series of composite adsorbents were synthesized with varying amidoxime/matrix ratios (35/65, 50/50, 65/35).

In the last thirty years, tissue engineering (TI) has emerged as an alternative method to regenerate tissues and organs and restore their function by implanting specific lineage cells, growth factors, or biomolecules functionalizing a matrix scaffold. Recently, several pathologies have led to bone loss or damage, such as malformations, bone resorption associated with benign or malignant tumors, periodontal disease, traumas, and others in which a discontinuity in tissue integrity is observed. Bone tissue is characterized by different stiffness, mechanical traction, and compression resistance as a function of the different compartments, which can influence susceptibility to injury or destruction.

Background: Surgical site infections (SSIs) can affect mortality, morbidity, and medical costs. Although it has recently been reported that washing with antiseptic/antibiotic solution can prevent SSI in clean surgery, the clinical impact in gastrointestinal surgery is still uncertain. Therefore, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of antiseptic/antibiotic solution during wound irrigation or peritoneal lavage in gastroenterological surgery.

With the worldwide transformation to a circular and low-carbon economy, the demand for sustainable materials has skyrocketed in recent years. Of various methods, sustainable and biodegradable biopolymers derived from renewable bioresources have received significant interest. Synthetic biodegradable biopolymers offer tremendous advantages over natural biodegradable biopolymers due to their stability, flexibility, and a wide range of achievable properties to fit several applications.
