In this paper, we study in detail the nonlinear propagation of a magnetic soliton in a ferromagnetic film. The sample is magnetized to saturation by an external field perpendicular to film plane. A generalized (2+1)-dimensional short-wave asymptotic model is derived. The bilinearlike forms of this equation are constructed and exact magnetic line soliton solutions are exhibited. It is observed that a series of stable lumps can be generated by an unstable magnetic soliton under Gaussian disturbance. Such magnetic lumps are highly stable and can maintain their shapes and velocities during evolution or collision. The interaction between lump and magnetic solitons, as well as the interaction between two lumps, are numerically investigated. We further discuss the nonlinear motion of lumps in ferrites with Gilbert damping and inhomogeneous exchange effects. The results show that the Gilbert-damping effects make the amplitude and velocity of the magnetic lump decay exponentially during propagation. And the shock waves are generated from a lump when quenching the strength of inhomogeneous exchange.

Emergent electronic phenomena, from superconductivity to ferroelectricity, magnetism, and correlated many-body band gaps, have been observed in domains created by stacking and twisting atomic layers of Van der Waals materials. In graphene, emergent properties have been observed in ABC stacking domains obtained by exfoliation followed by expert mechanical twisting and alignment with the desired orientation, a process very challenging and nonscalable. Here, conductive atomic force microscopy shows in untwisted epitaxial graphene grown on SiC the surprising presence of striped domains with dissimilar conductance, a contrast that demonstrates the presence of ABA and ABC domains since it matches exactly the conductivity difference observed in ABA/ABC domains in twisted exfoliated graphene and calculated by density functional theory.

Curvilinear magnetism emerged as a new route to tailor properties of magnetic solitons by the choice of geometry and topology of a magnetic architecture. Here, we develop an anodized aluminum oxide template-based approach to realize hierarchical 3D magnetic nanoarchitectures of nanoflower shape. The technique provides defect-free regular arrays of magnetic nanoflowers of tunable shape with a period of 400 nm over cm areas.

In this paper, the stabilization conditions, structure, and properties of possible vortex-like inhomogeneities, including k-skyrmions= 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, in a uniaxial multilayer disk with a columnar defect in the center are investigated based on micromagnetic modeling. Their stability diagrams depending on the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, the magnitude of magnetic anisotropy and the defect parameters are determined. New types of vortex-like inhomogeneities that can arise in such samples are found.

This work investigates the Kraenkel-Manna-Merle (KMM) system, which models the nonlinear propagation of short waves in saturated ferromagnetic materials subjected to an external magnetic field, despite the absence of electrical conductivity. The study aims to explore and derive new solitary wave solutions for this system using two distinct methodological approaches. In the first approach, the KMM system is transformed into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) via Lie group transformation.

We performed a pump-probe experiment on the chiral magnet Cu_{2}OSeO_{3} to study the relaxation dynamics of its noncollinear magnetic orders, employing a millisecond magnetic field pulse as the pump and resonant elastic x-ray scattering as the probe. Our findings reveal that the system requires ∼0.2 s to stabilize after the perturbation applied to both the conical and skyrmion lattice phase, which is significantly slower than the typical nanosecond timescale observed in micromagnetics.
