Chronic pain can be complicated by problematic opioid use, which may decrease engagement in care and HIV medication adherence. Pain-related anxiety and catastrophic thinking augment pain severity and interference while driving increased substance use. The acceptability and effect of a music-based smartphone application on negative affect and catastrophic thinking were evaluated in a mixed-methods study among persons living with HIV (PWH) with problematic opioid use and chronic pain.

Background: Dysfunctional depressogenic cognitions are considered a key factor in the etiology and maintenance of depression. In cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the current gold-standard psychotherapeutic treatment for depression, cognitive restructuring techniques are employed to address dysfunctional cognitions. Introduction: Accumulating data support the association between increased inflammation and bipolar disorder (BD), and preliminary data suggest that augmentation with low-dose aspirin (LDA) may protect against the onset and deterioration of BD via anti-inflammatory pathways. The A-bipolar randomised controlled trial (RCT) aims to investigate whether adding LDA to standard treatment improves day-to-day mood instability (MI) in BD.
Methods And Analysis: A two-arm, triple-blind, parallel-group, superiority RCT including 250 patients with newly diagnosed BD treated at the Copenhagen Affective Disorder Clinic, Denmark.

Background: The rising prevalence of mental health issues in children, adolescents, and young adults has become an escalating public health issue, impacting approximately 10%-20% of young people on a global scale. Positive psychology interventions (PPIs) can act as powerful mental health promotion tools to reach wide-ranging audiences that might otherwise be challenging to access. This increased access would enable prevention of mental disorders and promotion of widespread well-being by enhancing self-efficacy, thereby supporting the achievement of tangible objectives.
