Objectives: To investigate the effect of a new nursing method combining Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) circulation management and nursing on the prognosis of patients with severe pneumonia.

Methods: The clinical records of 98 patients treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from January 2019 to January 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into the control group (n=49) and the PDCA group (n=49), which were intervened by routine nursing and PDCA nursing based on routine nursing, respectively, by the same group of nursing staff.

Results: After PDCA care, the nutritional status (body weight; total protein, TP; albumin, ALB) and immune function (immunoglobulin A, IgA; immunoglobulin G, IgG) in the PDCA group were significantly higher than those in the control group. Compared with routine nursing, PDCA care significantly increased the levels of PaO and oxygenation index, and reduced PaCO, thus improving patients' ventilation function. The levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT) decreased more significantly in the PDCA group, thus better inhibiting the inflammatory response. The PDCA group also had fewer cases of invasive mechanical ventilation, shorter time of invasive ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, total oxygen therapy, and hospitalization, and better prognosis.

Conclusions: PDCA care can effectively improve the nursing quality and patients' satisfaction, and better alleviate patients' poor psychological emotions, which is conducive to building a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.

Background: The impact of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle in improving the timeliness of electronic medical record documentation (EMRd) remains uncertain. EMRd that is completed beyond the specified time is classified as late EMRd, while unqualified EMRd refers to electronic medical records with important sections that are not completed on time according to the Chinese Basic Norms of Medical Records Writing. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of PDCA management in improving the timeliness of EMRd among resident doctors.

Purpose: To evaluate the application effect of PDCA cycle teaching mode in the standardized training and teaching of dental residents in prosthodontics speciality.

Methods: A total of 46 dental residents in Shanghai Stomatological Hospital from 2020 to 2022 were selected as the research subjects, and divided into experimental group (n=23) and control group(n=23), the control group adopted conventional teaching method, while the experimental group adopted PDCA cycle teaching method on the basis of the control group. The theoretical assessment, clinical operation assessment and satisfaction of the teaching effect of the two groups of residents were compared with SPSS 20.

Article Synopsis
  • * Patients were split into control (160) and FOCUS-PDCA (158) groups, with comparisons made on pain, bleeding, swelling, and overall comfort after the procedure.
  • * Results showed that the FOCUS-PDCA group had significantly better outcomes, including higher rates of pain-free patients, less swelling, and improved comfort scores, indicating its potential for broader application in clinical settings.

Thermoelectric generators (TEGs) based on thermogalvanic cells can convert low-temperature waste heat into electricity. Organic redox couples are well-suited for wearable devices due to their nontoxicity and the potential to enhance the ionic Seebeck coefficient through functional-group modifications.  Pyrazine-based organic redox couples with different functional groups is comparatively analyzed through cyclic voltammetry under varying temperatures.
