The Eu ion, with the 4f5d electronic configuration, is one of the most important activated ions due to its symmetry-allowed 4f → 5d electron transition. Herein, we successfully prepared a new type of blue phosphor, NaCsMg(PO):Eu (NCMP:Eu), in which Eu occupies the Na sites of the host lattice. Under 395 nm light excitation, a broad emission band from 410 to 550 nm can be seen, peaking at 458 nm, due to the 5d → 4f transition of Eu. Moreover, Eu can be used as a sensitizer ion in an NCMP host. For co-doping phosphor NCMP:0.18Eu/0.4Mn, both Eu and Mn emission bands can be seen using 395 nm as the excitation wavelength for the occurrence of Eu → Mn charge transfer. The optimized concentration of Eu for NCMP:Eu is = 0.18, with high internal (IQE) and external quantum efficiencies (EQE) of 66.4% and 22.8%. The luminescence of NCMP:0.18Eu has high thermostability with 77.3% the intensity at 450 K compared to that at 300 K. Finally, a white illuminating lamp was produced using a 395 nm UV chip, blue phosphor NCMP:Eu, green phosphor (Sr,Ba)SiO:Eu and red phosphor CaAlSiN:Eu with CIE coordinates of (0.378, 0.369), color temperature (CCT) of 3971 K, and color rendering index () of 79.8.

Nanobodies or variable antigen-binding domains (VH) derived from heavy chain-only antibodies (HcAb) occurring in the Camelidae family offer certain superior physicochemical characteristics like enhanced stability, solubility, and low immunogenicity compared to conventional antibodies. Their efficient antigen-binding capabilities make them a preferred choice for next-generation small biologics. In the present work, we design an anti-SARS-CoV-2 bi-paratopic nanobody drug conjugate by screening a nanobody database.

Predicting free energy changes (ΔΔG) is essential for enhancing our understanding of protein evolution and plays a pivotal role in protein engineering and pharmaceutical development. While traditional methods offer valuable insights, they are often constrained by computational speed and reliance on biased training datasets. These constraints become particularly evident when aiming for accurate ΔΔG predictions across a diverse array of protein sequences.

Obstacles in quantifying A-to-I RNA editing by Sanger sequencing.

Adenosine-to-Inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing is the most prevalent type of RNA editing, in which adenosine within a completely or largely double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) is converted to inosine by deamination. RNA editing was shown to be involved in many neurological diseases and cancer; therefore, detection of A-to-I RNA editing and quantitation of editing levels are necessary for both basic and clinical biomedical research. While high-throughput sequencing (HTS) is widely used for global detection of editing events, Sanger sequencing is the method of choice for precise characterization of editing site clusters (hyper-editing) and for comparing levels of editing at a particular site under different environmental conditions, developmental stages, genetic backgrounds, or disease states.

Cecropin AD (CAD), a hybrid antimicrobial peptide composed of the first 11 residues of cecropin A and last 26 residues of cecropin D, is a promising antibiotic candidate. Therefore, an efficient and convenient method for producing CAD is necessary for commercial applications. The Newcastle disease virus (NDV) has been widely used as a platform for gene delivery and exogenous protein expression.

Thermus thermophilus HB27 laccase (Tth-Lac) is a thermostable enzyme that contains a β-hairpin (Ala292-Gln307) covering the substrate entrance. We analyzed the role of this β-hairpin in the enzymatic activity of Tth-Lac through three β-hairpin mutants: two variants without the β-hairpin (C1Tth-Lac and C2Tth-Lac) and one with a partially modified β-hairpin (P1Tth-Lac). Enzymatic activity was assayed with different substrates with and without copper.
