Partial wrist arthrodesis (PWA) is a salvage procedure used in advanced wrist arthritis and has traditionally been performed via an open dorsal approach. In recent years, surgeons have moved towards arthroscopic fusions to minimise soft tissue damage and preserve vascular supply, increase union rates and hasten recovery. The purpose of this study is to synthesise the current literature on the outcomes of arthroscopic PWA.

Introduction: No clear guidelines exist for unfractionated heparin (UFH) monitoring in adult patients on veno-arterial extracorporeal life support (VA-ECLS) for refractory cardiogenic shock. In this study, we sought to compare outcomes between anti-factor Xa (FXa) and activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) strategies for UFH monitoring during VA-ECLS.
Methods: This is a single-center, retrospective review of VA-ECLS patients who received UFH in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit between July 2019 and November 2023.

Early life stage (ELS) toxicity testing in fish is a crucial test procedure used to evaluate the long-term effects of a wide range of chemicals, including pesticides, industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food additives. This test is particularly important for screening and prioritizing thousands of chemicals under the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation. In silico methods can be used to estimate the toxicity of a chemical when no experimental data is available and to reduce the cost, time, and resources involved in the experimentation process.

The gastrointestinal tract can be deranged by ailments including sepsis, trauma and haemorrhage. Ischaemic injury provokes a common constellation of microscopic and macroscopic changes that, together with the paradoxical exacerbation of cellular dysfunction and death following restoration of blood flow, are collectively known as ischaemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). Although much of the gastrointestinal tract is normally hypoxemic, intestinal IRI results when there is inadequate oxygen availability due to poor supply (pathological hypoxia) or abnormal tissue oxygen use and metabolism (dysoxia).

The massive increase in the amount of plastid genome data have allowed researchers to address a variety of evolutionary questions within a wide range of plant groups. While plastome structure is generally conserved, some angiosperm lineages exhibit structural changes. Such is the case of the megadiverse order Asterales, where rearrangements in plastome structure have been documented.
