Extracellular matrix (ECM) rigidity increases during tumour progression. In a recent study, Romani et al. delineated a connection between ECM stiffness and the redox response of disseminated tumour cells. Their results suggest that soft ECM promotes DRP1-mediated mitochondrial fission and an NRF2-dependent antioxidant response.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effects of adding cholesteryl methacrylate (CM) monomer to experimental composite resins and evaluate its impact on polymerization shrinkage force (PSF), Knoop microhardness (KHN), sorption and solubility (SS), vulnerability to spontaneous oxidation (VOE), porosity (BES), viscosity (V), and cross-link density (CLD). CM was synthesized, mixed with varying proportions of Bis-GMA, 70 wt% filler particles, and 40 % TEGDMA. The groups tested were: CM0 (60 % Bis-GMA), CM6 (54 % Bis-GMA/6 % CM), CM12 (48 % Bis-GMA/12 % CM), CM18 (42 % Bis-GMA/18 % CM) and CM24 (36 % Bis-GMA/24 % CM).

The present investigation fits the reaction kinetics of a lithium-sulfur (Li-S) battery with polar electrolyte employing a novel two-phase continuum multipore model. The continuum two-phase model considers processes in both the liquid electrolyte phase and the solid precipitates phase, where the diffusion coefficients of the Li ions in a solvent-softened solid state are determined from molecular dynamics simulations. Solubility experiments yield the saturation concentration of sulfur and lithium sulfides in the polar electrolyte employed in this study.

Multinary metal chalcogenides hold considerable promise for high-energy potassium storage due to their numerous redox reactions. However, challenges arise from issues such as volume expansion and sluggish kinetics. Here, a design featuring a layered ternary BiSbTe anchored on graphene layers as a composite anode, where Bi atoms act as a lattice softening agent on Sb, is presented.

Linking structure to mechanical and elastic properties is a major concern for the development of novel electroactive materials. This work reports on the potential-induced changes in thickness and Young modulus of a substrate supported, perchlorate doped polypyrrole thin film (<100 nm) investigated with electrochemical atomic force microscopy (AFM) under conditions. This was accomplished by nanomechanical mapping of potentiodynamically electropolymerized polypyrrole film in electrolyte solution with AFM during redox cycling.

Rapid postharvest quality deterioration of button mushroom as fruit body surface browning brings about senescence development and limits its distribution potential and postharvest storage. In this investigation, 0.5 mM of NaHS as the optimum concentration for HS fumigation was applied to retain the quality of mushrooms concerning some qualitative and biochemical attributes evaluation throughout 15 storage-day at 4 °C and 80-90% relative humidity.
