Objective: The study aimed to clarify (1) the effect of the Beneslider distalization appliance on maxillary molars (M1+2), (2) the type of tooth movement, and (3) changes in skeletal parameters.
Study Design: Dental distalization paths and transversal changes were measured according to the distance of the pterygoid vertical as well as on the virtualized 3D plaster model.
Results: Distalization of the second premolar (P2; T1 - T2) was 2.51 mm (±1.81 mm; P < .001) combined with a distal tipping of 6.50° (±5.09°; P < .001), whereas for M1 a distalization of 3.49 mm (±1.10 mm) occurred with negligible tipping (0.73° ± 5.04°). No significant differences (T1 - T2) on sagittal and vertical skeletal variables were found within or between G1+2. In contrast, a significant increase in N-Sp' in G2 and in Sp'-Gn in G1+2 with consecutive Hasund index reduction was shown. Comparing T1 and T2, the device had an effect on the transversal development.
Conclusion: The Beneslider distalization appliance causes an effective distalization of M1+2, with slight second premolar tipping. No modification of skeletal parameters was recorded, but a relevant effect on Hasund index and the transverse was found.

Since class II malocclusion and lack of space within the dental arch due to early loss of deciduous molars is a common orthodontic problem in the Polish population, bone-anchored distalizers are becoming more and more popular. The aim of the present study was to evaluate palatal soft and hard tissue thickness using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) at the area of micro-implant placement of two appliances for maxillary first molar distalization: Beneslider and TopJet distalizer. The study data were 100 consecutively selected CBCT images (53 of men and 47 of women).

Introduction: This study aimed to investigate the dentoalveolar and skeletal changes achieved with a novel miniscrew-supported 3-dimensional maxillary bimetric distalizing arch (3D-MBDA) and the Beneslider. In addition, the study aimed to compare these changes between each other and with an untreated control group.
Methods: Sixty-five patients with bilateral Class II molar relationship and fully-erupted maxillary second molars were included in the study.

Clear aligners are the most debated infusion of technology into the orthodontic stratosphere and currently account for a sizable chunk of the orthodontic commercial market. Data indicate that a series of plastic aligners alone cannot resolve all the variants of malocclusion routinely treated by our specialty. Current literary consensus exists that the discrepancy between the predicted and actual clinical outcomes with clear aligner therapy (CAT) is around 50% or more, necessitating midcourse corrections, refinement, or additional aligners, or even a conversion to fixed appliances before the end of treatment.
