In order to demonstrate the role of the fluorination and some solvents in the structural organization of the Ag(I) coordination polymers with β-diketonate ligands (RC(O)CHC(O)R) we synthesized a series of the compounds containing tfac- (R = CH, R = CF) and pfpac- (R = CH, R = CF) anions. Solvent-free [Ag(L)] (L = tfac , pfpac ) compounds and the corresponding acetonitrile and toluene adducts have been characterized by elemental analysis and/or NMR, IR and single-crystal XRD. This series includes five new coordination polymers. Compound is a 3D coordination framework based on Ag-O, Ag-C bonds, and argentophilic interactions. An increase in the fluorinated group leads to a chain coordination polymer of an unusual structural organization. These chains can be represented as a "DNA-type", where two intertwined helices based on Ag-O and Ag-C bonds are connected through Ag-O ones. Two structural types of chain coordination polymers, [Ag(tfac)(CHCN)] and [Ag(L)(solvent)], have been revealed for the adducts. The latter structural type differs significantly from the previously studied toluene and acetonitrile adducts of fluorinated Ag(I) β-diketonates of the same stoichiometry. Thermal analysis in helium showed that both and decompose to metallic silver with the compound of pfpac-ligand being slightly more stable.

With the rapid advancement of information technology, the need to achieve ultra-high-density data storage has become a pressing necessity. This study synthesized three hyperbranched polyimides (HBPI-TAPP, HBPI-(Zn)TAPP, and HBPI-(Cu)TAPP) by polymerizing 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)porphyrin (TAPP), which features a cavity for metal ion coordination, with 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride (6FDA), to systematically investigate the effect of metal ion species on storage performance. According to the results, memory devices based on HBPI-(Zn)TAPP exhibit volatile SRAM (static random-access memory) characteristics, whereas devices employing HBPI-TAPP and HBPI-(Cu)TAPP demonstrate non-volatile WORM (write-once, read-many) characteristics.

The demand for insulating materials with superior dielectric properties has increased. Among these materials, polymers containing cyclic structure including cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) and cyclic olefin polymer (COP) stand out because of their excellent dielectric properties originating from the pure hydrocarbon structure. Introducing fluorine into polymers is one efficient strategy for optimizing the dielectric and the related important properties.

Investigating the correlation between metal coordination and molecular conductivity in single-molecule systems is essential for advancing our knowledge of molecular electronics, particularly in the realm of spintronics. In the present study, we developed two complex wires utilizing the bipyridine ligand and two transition metal ions, Co and Zn, aiming to study the impact of different spin characters on single-molecule charge transport properties. Single-molecule conductance was investigated using scanning tunnelling microscope breaking junctions (STM-BJ) technique and the underlying mechanism was analysed by density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

BACKGROUND A tooth preparation's clinical requirements and geometric configurations should take precedence over material characteristics when advocating for putty reline impression techniques for permanent restorations, since they require a technically sensitive spacer for light body elastomer. We evaluated the linear dimensional accuracy of vinyl polysiloxane-based putty reline impressions with different spacer acquisition techniques in short-span and long-span fixed partial dentures (FPD). MATERIAL AND METHODS A typodont tooth set simulated a 3-unit (short-span) and a 5-unit (long-span) FPD.

Despite significant advancements in gene delivery and CRISPR technology, several challenges remain. Chief among these are overcoming serum inhibition and achieving high transfection efficiency with minimal cytotoxicity. To address these issues, there is a need for novel vectors that exhibit lower toxicity, maintain stability in serum-rich environments, and effectively deliver plasmids of various sizes across diverse cell types.
