Background: Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is an uncommon disease with various clinical presentations. The hypopigmented type is more common in individuals with a dark skin complexion. Moreover, childhood CTCL is more common in Mediterranean populations in comparison to the West.

Primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas mostly occur in patients of middle and higher age. Their rarity and an oftentimes atypical clinical presentation in childhood as well as the reluctance of taking biopsies in children are reasons for a delayed diagnosis. We report the case of an 11-year-old boy with a 7-year history of slowly progressive CD8+CD56+ mycosis fungoides of the cytotoxic immunophenotype.

A 25-year-old Japanese woman presented with contracture of the fingers and toes, and difficulty in opening her mouth. Her grandparents are first cousins, but none of the other members of the family are affected. Bulla formation started at birth on areas of the skin that received pressure, and in infancy and early childhood the lesions were limited only to the acral areas.
