Purpose: To report a case of iris implantation cysts occurring 24 years after penetrating keratoplasty and its management.
Observations: A 60-year-old man was referred for diagnosis and management of white iris masses of the right eye. He had undergone bilateral penetrating keratoplasty 24 years before without complication. The clinical findings were suggestive of iris implantation cysts and Ultrasound Biomicroscopy (UBM) and anterior-segment optical coherence tomography confirmed the diagnosis. The patient did not develop any ocular complications from the cysts after one-year follow-up from the diagnosis of iris implantation cysts.
Conclusions And Importance: Iris implantation cysts are rare benign tumors that develop after the ectopic implantation of epithelial cells within the iris stroma. They can be congenital or secondary to penetrating trauma or surgery. Their diagnosis relies on clinical examination and UBM. In case of intraocular complications, treatment may be required, otherwise observational follow-up is appropriate.

We report a case of spontaneous total iris avulsion that occurred during corneal wound hydration following an uneventful phacoemulsification procedure. An 86-year-old woman underwent cataract surgery on her right eye, during which a single-piece acrylic intraocular lens (Bausch and Lomb Akreos Adapt Advanced Optics, Bausch and Lomb Incorporated, Rochester, NY, USA) was implanted in the bag, and the viscoelastic material was removed. During corneal wound hydration, total iris avulsion was observed, with the iris prolapsing out of the anterior chamber through the main wound.

An 18-year-old woman with a congenital iris stromal cyst was referred for sudden-onset increased intraocular pressure (IOP) that did not respond to medical therapy. Ultrasound biomicroscopy demonstrated synechial angle closure from 9:00 to 12:00 in addition to a large cyst occupying much of the inferior angle. After implantation of an Ahmed glaucoma valve, her visual acuity returned to baseline, and IOP normalized.

Purpose: To report visual and refractive outcomes and intraoperative and postoperative complications after pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with retropupillary implantation of an iris clip intraocular lens (IOL).
Methods: This is a retrospective case series of patients who underwent secondary retropupillary intraocular lens insertion combined with pars plana vitrectomy to treat aphakia secondary to a dislocated nucleus lens (group A); or IOL dislocation (group B). Patient demographics, preoperative visual and refractive outcomes, intraoperative factors, postoperative visual and refractive outcomes, and complications within the follow-up period ranging from 6 months up to 3 years postoperative, were recorded.

Background: Oculocutaneous albinism is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by congenital melanin deficiency, resulting in hypopigmentation of the eyes, hair, and skin. This study included a Chinese family with an oculocutaneous albinism pedigree, in which the proband presented with oculocutaneous albinismcombined with secondary angle closure, which has been rarely reported in previous literature. This article primarily focused on the clinical and genetic examination results of this patient and provided recommendations for ophthalmologist to treat patients with oculocutaneous albinism in clinical practice.

While it was originally described post-penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) in patients with keratoconus and its prevalence is notably higher following PKP, instances of UZS have been documented in the context of other procedures, including intraocular lens implantation, Descemet-stripping endothelial keratoplasty and Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK). We report a unique case of bilateral UZS after uneventful DMEK surgeries, highlighting a rare but potential complication after DMEK.
