Intraductal papilloma (IDP) is a benign tumor of the breast. However, IDP has been reported to show high uptake of 18F-FDG using whole-body PET. We experienced IDP with low-grade ductal carcinoma in situ using dedicated breast PET, which is more sensitive than whole-body PET. The 18F-FDG uptake of the whole tumor was high, and differentiation between the carcinoma and the residual benign lesion was difficult. This is the first report of IDP detected with dedicated breast PET. Diagnosis of IDP is sometimes controversial; papilloma may show glucose uptake similar to that of low-grade carcinoma.

Phytochlorins, a class of plant-derived tetrapyrroles, show great potential as sonosensitizers in sonodynamic therapy (SDT). The development of new phytochlorin-based sonosensitizers has significantly improved SDT, yet the absence of specialized sonodynamic systems limits their clinical translation. Herein, a dedicated ultrasound system along with a detailed step-by-step sonodynamic process from in vitro to in vivo is developed to activate phytochlorin-based sonosensitizers.

Background: Non-adherence to medication remains a persistent and significant challenge, with profound implications for patient outcomes and the long-term sustainability of healthcare systems. Two decades ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) dedicated its seminal report to adherence to long-term therapies, catalysing notable changes that advanced both research and practice in medication adherence. The aim of this paper was to identify the most important progress made over the last 2 decades in medication adherence management and to initiate a discussion on future objectives, suggesting priority targets for the next 20 years.

Just like in other medical specialties, medical malpractice claims arise in pathology as well. Although the exact rate of malpractice related to pathology cannot be clearly stated in Turkey, it is known to occur more frequently during the diagnosis stage, as reported worldwide. This study discusses the measures that should be taken to prevent these claims by comparing cases with alleged malpractice in pathology, evaluated by the Council of Forensic Medicine, with the literature.
