The laccase () gene family members in peach fruit were identified and the relationship between their expression pattern and chilling induced browning were investigated. The study was performed using two varieties of peaches with different chilling tolerance, treated with or without exogenous γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) during cold storage. Twenty-six genes were screened from the peach fruit genome. These genes were distributed on 6 chromosomes and each contained 5-7 exons. The gene family members shared relatively similar gene structure and conserved motifs, and they were classified into 7 subgroups based on the cluster analysis. Transcriptome sequencing revealed that the expression levels of and exhibited an increasing pattern under low temperature storage, and displayed a similar trend with the browning index of peach fruit. Notably, GABA treatment reduced the degree of browning and inhibited the expression of and These results suggested that and might be involved in the browning of peach fruit during cold storage.

Background: With the development of sequencing technology and the rapid increasing in the number of sequenced genomes, lineage-specific genes (LSGs) have been identified and characterized across various species. Similar to other conserved functional genes, LSGs play a crucial role in biological evolution and development. However, the understanding of LSGs remains limited.

Recently, computer vision methods have been widely applied to agricultural tasks, such as robotic harvesting. In particular, fruit harvesting robots often rely on object detection or segmentation to identify and localize target fruits. During the model selection process for object detection, the average precision (AP) score typically provides the de facto standard.

The flavor evolution of yellow peaches during ripening was investigated using a gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS), metabolomics, and electronic sensoristic techniques. Of the 41 volatiles quantified, 13 increased the intensity of the aroma based on the odor activity values (OAVs). Additionally, 142 non-volatile compounds were identified.
