Background Case Description: Prone transposoas (PTP) is a novel approach to the lateral lumbar interbody fusion that harnesses the advantages of minimally invasive surgery with circumferential access to the lumbar spine in a single position. We present the peri-operative course of four index cases of patients having undergone PTP at a single institution.
Outcome: Pre and post-operative spinal imaging with alignment parameters, operative approach, and patient outcome are reviewed for each index case.
Conclusion: As advances in neuromonitoring and minimally invasive technology continue to evolve, new lumbar interbody fusion approaches are becoming operatively feasible.

Acute hemorrhagic rectal ulcer (AHRU) is a rare but potentially life-threatening condition. We present the case of a 74-year-old man who developed sudden massive hematochezia and hypotension during hospitalization for fever of unknown origin. He was known to have alcohol-related liver cirrhosis, hypoalbuminemia and coronary artery disease (CAD) and was on daily aspirin.

Introduction: Psoriasis is a systemic inflammatory disease associated with elevated cardiovascular risk due to inflammatory and oxidative stress. Two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) can detect both regional and global myocardial strain. Impairment of ventricular strain can assist in the early detection of myocardial dysfunction.

Background Bone metastases often cause pathological fractures and impair patients' quality of life and survival. Although several studies have been conducted on pathological fractures in the femur and spine, limited research has been done on the upper limbs. This study aimed to reveal the risk factors and determine how pathological fractures impact survival in patients with humeral metastasis.

Purpose: Microsurgical reconstruction, including vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT) and lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA), have emerged as promising treatment options for chronic breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL). Despite their clinical relevance, the precise timelines for patient improvement following these interventions remain rather unexplored. Therefore, the goal of this study was to compare the long-term outcomes and improvement patterns over time of VLNT versus LVA to lay open potential differences and aid in personalized counseling of future patients.

Introduction Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) serves as a pivotal tool in the preoperative assessment of rectal cancer. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of preoperative MRI pelvis in rectal cancer for locoregional staging, circumferential margin (CRM+), and vascular invasion (V1) with postoperative histopathological findings. Methods All patients who underwent preoperative staging MRI pelvis scanning for histology-proven primary rectal adenocarcinoma between January 2020 and July 2022 were included in this study.
