Current trends in sensitizing immune checkpoint inhibitors for cancer treatment.

Mol Cancer

Department of Medical Oncology, Gastric Cancer Center, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, 610041, China.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have dramatically transformed the treatment landscape for various malignancies, achieving notable clinical outcomes across a wide range of indications. Despite these advances, resistance to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) remains a critical clinical challenge, characterized by variable response rates and non-durable benefits. However, growing research into the complex intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics of tumors has advanced our understanding of the mechanisms behind ICI resistance, potentially improving treatment outcomes.

is an intracellular opportunistic parasite that exists in a latent form within the human central nervous system (CNS), even in immune-competent hosts. During acute infection, traverses the blood-brain barrier (BBB). In the subsequent chronic infection phase, the infiltration of immune cells into the brain, driven by infection and the formation of parasitic cysts, leads to persistent activation and proliferation of astrocytes and microglia.

Constructing Strong and Tough Polymer Elastomers via Photoreversible Coumarin Dimer Mechanophores.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

December 2024

National Engineering Laboratory for Clean Technology of Leather Manufacture, College of Biomass Science and Engineering, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610065, P.R. China.

Advanced elastomers with outstanding strength, toughness, and reusability hold significant potential for diverse applications. Using photochemistry and mechanochemistry to develop such materials has become a very effective strategy. Here, we report that photoreversible coumarin-based mechanophores that can make force-/light-triggered cycloreversion are chemically incorporated into polyurethane elastomers to simultaneously enhance their strength and toughness.

Genome-wide characterization of RsHDAC gene members unravels a positive role of RsHDA9 in thermotolerance in radish (Raphanus sativus L.).

December 2024

Key Laboratory of Horticultural Crop Biology and Genetic Improvement (East China) of MOAR, College of Horticulture, Sanya Institute, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing 210095, PR China. Electronic address:

Radish is an economically important root vegetable crop worldwide. Histone deacetylases (HDACs), one of the most important epigenetic regulators, play prominent roles in plant growth and development as well as abiotic stress responses. Nevertheless, the systematical characterization and critical roles of HDAC gene members in thermogenesis remains elusive in radish.
