The patient sought care for a burn he hadn't felt when he'd held a hot cup of coffee. His history, and the appearance of his hands, suggested a systemic disease at work.

A magnetic field and pour point depressant, as a new avenue for improving the submarine pipeline flow of waxy oils, has attracted increasing attention along with the development of efficient wax mitigation techniques. Although advances have been made recently in understanding the rheological behavior and crystallization properties of waxy oils, the effect of magnetic field and pour point depressants on wax deposition remains an open question. In this work, a ferromagnetic nanocomposite pour point depressant (FNPPD) was prepared.

Klinik und Poliklinik für Dermatologie und Allergologie, LMU Klinikum - Campus Innenstadt, München, Deutschland.

Scleromyxedema or generalized diffuse lichen myxoedematosus is a rare mucinosis that is associated with monoclonal gammopathy and which frequently affects multiple extracutaneous organ systems. The pathogenesis of scleromyxedema has not been fully elucidated, but includes stimulation of glycosaminoglycan synthesis. The clinical course of scleromyxedema is chronic and often progressive, leading to severe morbidity and even death.

Pedicled abdominal skin flap technique for fingers salvaging and reconstruction in a complex palmar hand burn injury: A case report.

Int J Surg Case Rep

January 2024

Division of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung, Indonesia.

Introduction And Importance: The only treatment option for full-thickness burn injury is surgical management, either skin grafting or a skin flap. Treatment may be challenging due to the multiple procedures that need to be performed and multiple factors that can affect treatment outcomes especially to do fingers reconstruction.

Case Presentation: A 25-years-old man was admitted because of a burn injury on the palm of his left hand.

Wax deposition in high-wax (waxy) crude oil has been an important challenge in the oil and gas industry due to the repercussions in flow assurance during oil extraction and transportation. However, the nanotechnology has emerged as a potential solution for the optimization of conventional wax removal and/or inhibition processes due to its exceptional performance in the alteration of wax morphology and co-crystallization behavior. In this sense, this study aims to study the performance of two commercial wax inhibitor treatments (WT1 and WT2) on the wax formation and crystallization due to the addition of SiO nanoparticles.

In empowering the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal, the oil industry is inclined toward organic wax inhibitor applications when combatting the wax deposition issue during crude oil production. This is because synthetic chemical inhibitors are costly and have the potential to create environmental problems when oil spillage or seepage occurs during transportation or operation. This study evaluates the impact of low-cost, natural plant-based inhibitors such as Jatropha seed oil (JSO), crude palm oil, and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) on paraffin inhibition efficiency (PIE, %) and rheological properties of Malaysian waxy crude oil.
