Manipulation of protein stability using small molecules has a great potential for both basic research and clinical therapy. Based on our protein knockdown technology, we developed chimeric degrader molecules SNIPER(ER)s that target the estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) for degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome system. This chapter describes the design and synthesis of SNIPER(ER) compounds and methods for the evaluation of their activity in cellular systems and in a tumor xenograft model.

Importance: Metformin and glyburide monotherapy are used as alternatives to insulin in managing gestational diabetes. Whether a sequential strategy of these oral agents results in noninferior perinatal outcomes compared with insulin alone is unknown.
Objective: To test whether a treatment strategy of oral glucose-lowering agents is noninferior to insulin for prevention of large-for-gestational-age infants.

Highly fluorinated naphthyl aldehyde and binaphthyl aldehyde ()- were designed and synthesized for fluorous-phase-based sensing. Greatly enhanced sensitivity and chemoselectivity in going from to ()- in the fluorescent detection of cysteine has been discovered. This is attributed to the increased structural rigidity of the axially chiral binaphthyl unit in ()- upon reaction with cysteine to form the corresponding thiazolidine product.

Rationale And Objective: Perceptions of sarcopenia have rarely been explored, yet understanding these will be key for successful translation of sarcopenia research findings into meaningful benefits for patients and the public. This scoping review aimed to explore how sarcopenia is perceived amongst patients, health and care professionals (HCP), and the public in different countries.
Methods: Seven electronic databases were searched from inception up to December 2023 with no geographical or language limitations.

Among the various cations, the Fe ion is one of the most critical transition metal ions in living cells for many cellular functions and enzymatic activities. The decrease or overloading of Fe can lead to different disruptions in humans. Also, Fe, highly toxic, is very common in all industrial wastewater.

Objective: The aim of this study was to systematically review the preclinical studies that have applied the static magnetic field to wound healing.
Methods: The search strategy was performed in databases: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, LILACS, CINAHL and Cochrane Database, and in gray literature. The inclusion criteria were: Pre-clinical studies, either with a separate control/sham parallel-group or cross-over design in rodents that used magnets to treat skin injuries anywhere on the body.
