A vast sum of fish waste is being annually discarded by marine fishing industries imposing serious environmental pollution concerns. However, these aquatic discarded matters are captivating sources of collagen, a fibrous protein with eminent social and economic relevance. Spironolactone (SP), an aldosterone inhibitor widely used to treat androgen-dependent disorders such as acne, hirsutism, and alopecia, has demonstrated therapeutic potential in both oral and topical formulations. However, SP's low solubility and poor bioavailability in conventional formulations have driven the development of novel nanocarriers to enhance its efficacy. This review systematically examines recent advancements in SP-loaded nanocarriers, including lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), vesicular nanoparticles (VNPs), polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs), and nanofibers (NFs).

Local electrochemical deposition (LECD) is an innovative additive manufacturing technology capable of achieving precise deposition of metallic microstructures. This study delves into the ramifications of pivotal operational parameters-namely, the initial electrode gap, deposition voltage, and additive concentration-on the morphology of zinc microcolumns fabricated through LECD. A holistic approach integrating experimental methodologies with finite element simulations was adopted to scrutinize the influence of these variables on the microcolumns' dimensions, surface morphology, and structural integrity.

: This study focuses on the critical task of blood vessel segmentation in medical image analysis, essential for diagnosing cardiovascular diseases and enabling effective treatment planning. Although deep learning architectures often produce very high segmentation results in medical images, coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) images are more challenging than invasive coronary angiography (ICA) images due to noise and the complexity of vessel structures. : Classical architectures for medical images, such as U-Net, achieve only moderate accuracy, with an average Dice score of 0.
